Curious if I need to get this replaced ASAP or if it can wait until next oil change- the spot is not large and I have not had to add oil.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quick question for the group I recently saw a spot in my garage and traced it out to the flex hose with the hose clamp. Curious if I need to get this replaced ASAP or if it can wait until next oil change- the spot is not large and I have not had to add oil. I also see it is coming from bottom of engine oil sump, so curious if this is the fill tube for oil or something else. Pic attached to show spot on floor and where coming from hose clamp.

The hose and clamp that is coated with oil is the coolant hose that connects to the thermostat housing and the smaller hose to the right is the coolant hose that connects to the water pump. You oil leak is coming from above. You need to investigate further to locate the source.

Okay, thanks for the quick response. I am going to send pics to my mechanic to see if he has any insight.
