Suggestion

Yeah, it's odd that the most performance-gaining mode of SPORT+ is actually a quieter setting although power can be derived more efficiently perhaps with more backpressure (?).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I took my 2017 911 Cab autocrossing over the weekend. When I used SPORT, the exhaust sounded awesome, nice and loud with pops when I let off the gas. However, the SPORT+ mode was a letdown. No pops and it did not have the rumble that I got when I used SPORT mode. I thought that both of those modes would produce similar sounds. Am I wrong? My old Boxster GTS with the 6 cyl sounded great on both of those modes! What gives?

POST 2Original post

I have a 991.2 C4S and yes the pops and gurgles go away in Sport+. I think it is to get better performance I’ve heard you can tune the car and remove P&G if desired (which I may do after CPO expires). Maybe you could add them back in S+ mode?!

POST 3Original post

Yeah, it's odd that the most performance-gaining mode of SPORT+ is actually a quieter setting although power can be derived more efficiently perhaps with more backpressure (?). I'm still learning about my car but I really miss those pops and burbling when using SPORT+! Thanks for your response.

POST 4Original post

No real need for sport + unless racing or for time on a track. Doubt it does much for autocross. Stick with sport, plenty of performance and the driver is usually the weakest link.

POST 5Original post

I agree with Ernest with one exception, sometimes it’s fun to get your ya ya’s out in sport plus.

POST 6Original post

I know what you mean. But sport mode does everything I need on the road in manual mode. Not sure I need more violent shifts as they seem perfect as is.
