I did have a few cracked coils and I also installed the newest iteration in spark plugs, ruthenium ngk's, so unfortunately i cant isolate and say that the accel's made a huge difference but the motor is running great and the 3.8 seems very happy with them.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone have experience with these yet? Since my car is approaching 25 years, the price of these makes replacing the injectors more reasonable. apparently the pricey Bosch injectors for early cars are hard to find and still made in China. this is a 1/3 of the price. Im aware the newer Bosch injectors can be modified to fit 996.1. https://lnengineering.com/new-aftermarket-blue-fuel-injector-replaces-porsche-99660612001-bosch-0280150455.html

POST 2Original post

I am using Accel fuel injectors in my 3.8 FSI build . They are 24 lb per hour so larger than stock . No mods needed they are a direct bolt in . I think stock injectors are 20 lb per hour . To be honest I wasn't concerned about price , I was more concerned about quality and spray pattern . Engine runs great.

POST 3Original post

I bought a set for my 996.2 from LN... The price was quite competitive and they had them.

Do you happen to have a part number? I have a 1999 996 with a Vision 3.4 to 3.8 stroker and would love to upgrade the injectors before looking at sending off the DME for a remap / "tune" to squeeze as much out as possible. I have used Accel in my chevy trucks and had nothing but good things to say... are these the ones by chance? https://www.holley.com/products/fuel...e/parts/150124

POST 5Original post

^^^ Yep that's them . Order # 150624 it is the 6 pack of injectors .

POST 6Original post

Quotes source post: 18660585

@996C438 Thanks again for the assistance. I ordered the 6 pk as you mentioned via holley.com and it came out to $349 + tax, shipped for free which came out to $63 per unit. It was serendipitous I suppose as my car failed CA Smog for running rich and I store the car these days more than drive so its about time to start looking at a tune up/ check for stuck injectors and get the fuel trims right for my 3.8. I have an appointment with my local shop Monday to work backwards for running rich and have these bad boys installed! Last piece of equation will be to order an FVD tuner as they have a module that can tune via cable OBD the older DME system. That should help tie in all exhaust mods and motor mods once the car is in the clear. This is a great workaround as FCP Euro has genuine 996.1 injectors starting at $100 / unit and reman bosch for $400 a set.

POST 7Original post

Good luck with yours . Mine is running great .

POST 8Original post

@CharlieBravo I've had these parts checked for compatibility by my Indy, bought them online at carparts.com, and despite what the Internet says, that they might need a small mod to clip in properly, he tells me they are an exact fit. They're sitting on the shelf waiting for my budget to catch up... So I can't totally confirm they work, but he would know and he checked his parts system. 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera 6 Cyl 3.4L - Fuel Injector (White) - Replaces OE Number 996-606-122-00 - https://www.carparts.com/details/Por...280156053.html I paid 267.85 for 6, but now the price is 2.5x I got em on sale I guess. It's too bad there's no 🐪🐫🐫 for car parts.

POST 9Original post

Hi all- Quick update: just got my car back. My local indy installed the injectors as I needed some other work to pass SMOG here is CA so I figured it was easier to have them do it. The car starts much better now and there is no more hesitation in the higher RPM's. I did have a few cracked coils and I also installed the newest iteration in spark plugs, ruthenium ngk's, so unfortunately i cant isolate and say that the accel's made a huge difference but the motor is running great and the 3.8 seems very happy with them. To my knowledge for my 99 996, no extra mods were needed (clip side) per the notes on my invoice. Based on the quality and build of these injectors, I would highly recommend these Accel units. The battery needs to be disconnected again now that I passed smog so I will let the DME relearn over the weekend. Thx all for the help!

POST 10Original post

I am glad they worked out for you . Because these are larger flow rate ( 24 lbs per hour ) they won't be running at full duty cycle vs stock 20 pound injectors . That should help with longevity. My comment is for a 3.8 or 4.0 with a good tune . The 20's will work but they get stressed pretty hard . The 24's give you some relief .

POST 11Original post

Thank you and makes sense. I called FVD as they have a handheld with dongle tuner via the OBD port for the early cars and unfortunately they would not sell it to me even though I am running the 3.4 DME set up on a 3.8. It is supposed to learn as you go? Supposedly the engineers in Germany are not OK with sending out the software + handheld even though I offered to log data and fuel trims for them to ensure safety via my durametric. Its not like a huge increase in displacement say from going to a 350 v8 to a 454 big block 7.4 so unfortunately my options are limited as I believe softronic my be the last tuners, but you need to send in and bench flash. It makes sense not having the actual car and tuning for the larger motor though I believe LN / Raby motor rebuilds recommend starting with base DME? I could be wrong here but I believe I have seen that posted on the forums here.

POST 12Original post

My question is will these work fine on a stock 3.4 engine. I would guess the answer is yes just at a lower duty cycle. People are very cautious with these engine though so maybe not a good idea ?

POST 13Original post

I have no idea on running them on a stock engine . I only know my setup .
