Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When I first got my 996, I used a VIN decoder from Auto Atlanta to see all the options my car has.

Suggestion
The VIN alone will not give you what you want, but if you can use the VIN to access the OEM's database, as *********** does, it will tell you everything about the original car; all OEM's are this way.
Leading evidence: 'Use vin decoder' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all, I usually hang around the 944/968 forum as you can tell by my login name but I need some help relating to a 997.
My uncle has just purchased a 997 Carrera VIN WPOZZZ99Z9S700306 and would like to know what options it came with from the factory.
And before any one mentions Suncoast Porsche, I did try to purchase it through Suncoast but as I am in New Zealand the site treated it as an "export" sale and wouldn't let me proceed to the checkout once I had entered my address...
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Stephen
I just went through this exercise myself.
Look at the paper decal on the underside of the front boot or the one stuck to the inside of the owners manual. Then go here:
Porsche Option Codes List: The Grandmother of all Porsche Options List. Decode your Options
The VIN will not tell you the options on the car, just the place of build, year of build, model, etc. For the options you need either the original owner's manual or the sticker from under the front trunk lid........
Are you sure? When I first got my 996, I used a VIN decoder from Auto Atlanta to see all the options my car has. It seems to be all correct, including options that are not not listed on the sticker, but the car obviously has - like AWD, silver interior trim, etc. It seems that they now charge for that service though.
Because it is just a simple VIN look up, there is nothing beyond location and date of build built into the VIN, it is pretty much just a database placeholder like your social security or driver’s license number; without access to the master data base, you get nothing more. The VIN alone will not give you what you want, but if you can use the VIN to access the OEM's database, as *********** does, it will tell you everything about the original car; all OEM's are this way. And why they now charge for the privilege…….
