Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hello,
so my problem is this... I have a 2001 996 that suffered D chucking, and it blew a hole in the block. I had no choice but to purchase a replacement motor, I bought a used motor from a Porsche dismantler but when it was delivered to my home I realized it was from an earlier version without the drive by wire throttle :-( because of this I removed the existing wiring harness from my dchunk motor and all the sensors from my motor and replaced all the parts on the new motor. Now my problem is I have an extra clip on the wiring harness that I can't for the life of me figure out where it goes. The clip looks identical to a fuel injector clips. it is on the 456 cylinder side of the motor(near vacuum switches and splits off the harness where the wires come out from under the intake manifold to wrap down the side for injectors and coils.. I have of course plugged in the 3 fuel injectors and the two vacuum switches, there is also an identical switch plugged in near the throttle body on a black tube but I still have 1 remaining that I cannot figure out where it goes I have spent 12 hours taking everything apart and putting everything back together but cannot for the life of me find where it is can go! I can anyone help please??? I feel really foolish for being unable to solve this riddle. again the plug is identical to a fuel injector clip and the wire colors are red with blue stripe and red with a violet stripe.
Hi, Are you sure on the wire colors? As soon as the snow goes away I will check my 911. I noticed a test plug around that area however I didn't remember the colors. I think a similar plug like the one the fuel injector also would fit on the tank venting valve or the intake pipe change over switch.
On your wiring diagram did it say cooling water stop valve and did the circuit lead to the Tiptronic controller and mark as ATF valve? If so that is for you trans cooler. If you vehicle is a manual trans perhaps it is just an unused plug now.
