I also found that on the passenger side, it's unnecessary to remove or loosen the outside latch, it's easy enough to disconnect the catch that slides back to disconnect as illustrated in your video.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

Well done, Yogi! Coincidentally, I replaced the passenger side latch on my 2004 C2 this weekend. I decided to do the whole piece, mainly because I found a RO part for $113. It's an identical part to the original /and an exact fit: 8N1837016C. Also, because there are five switches in the latch subject to failure, plus one each on the outside & inside handles. Here's a great description of the function and failure symptoms of each of those. https://www.renntech.org/tutorials/a...microswitches/ . I also found that on the passenger side, it's unnecessary to remove or loosen the outside latch, it's easy enough to disconnect the catch that slides back to disconnect as illustrated in your video. Nice job and keep up the good work!
