I could just keep going, as the instructions for the 997 are similar and they do not appear to show these lines (according to the text, the 997 uses a different, returnless fuel system,) but I don't want to screw anything up.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello team! I'm trying to replace my fuel injectors, following this guidance: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...eplacement.htm One step involves disconnecting the fuel supply and return lines on the left side of the engine, as depicted in figure 4. However, my 2003 996 C2 does not appear to have these connections. What's up? I could just keep going, as the instructions for the 997 are similar and they do not appear to show these lines (according to the text, the 997 uses a different, returnless fuel system,) but I don't want to screw anything up. Thoughts? Here's the pic from the instructions, followed by what mine looks like: what mine looks like

POST 2Original post

Just keep going. I think pelican has the earlier 3.4l motor as their example.

POST 3Original post

The top pic is a 996.1 return system, your 2003 has a returnless system like the 997. Not much differance in the injector procedures except the return line...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Awesome, thanks guys. Any tips on pulling the fuel rail out? Doesn’t want to budge and I’m hesitant to use too much force.

POST 5Original post

It HAS to come out, use what force is nessesary, if something breaks it was meant to be....

POST 6Original post

I have not looked at the pelican "how to" but i assume it has u take out the retaining bolts. Assuming they r removed it pops out but the o-ring can be dry and stuburn.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, with the bolts removed itll wiggle just a bit, but doesnt want to pop out.

POST 8Original post

Gonna take more then a wiggle. Might be a knuckle buster because it will pop.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I did manage to get it out finally. Both sides took some elbow grease. It was a b*tch of a job and getting the rails seated again was no easy task, but overall not too bad. Took about 5 hours for this novice.
