Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

So much so, that there is a section in the owner's manual on how to use a "quick charger" applied to a special connection in the fuse panel that will supply enough juice to the circuitry to allow using the electronic latch and gain access to the front luggage compartment – which is where you access the battery for doing a jump start.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2007 Carerra S 15k miles.. When starting the car it sounds a little rough, one warmed up and re start it's smooth, my question is , what should I expect to pay a Porsche Dealer for a compete tune -up including all fluids, filters and spark plugs ??? Also I am thinking the battery needs replacement since it is the orginal and at times a little slow starting and turning over the engine. Should I have the Porsche dealer install an original replacement or what battery make and model would be good. Thank you

POST 2Original post

Here in CA the P-car dealers are about $125 per hour. I would post on here and RennList.com and 6speedonline.com in their 997 forum to see what you can find. They are very active. I recently bought my wife a '10 997.2 C4S w/6 speed and 8K miles so I am also going to be looking for an independent shop that can service that car for me when it is needed. As far as a stock Porsche battery I am have heard they do not last that long and better batteries are available for our cars. Best wishes.

POST 4Original post

I recently got a 2007 C2S w/ 19K on it. I was forewarned about draining the battery when NOT driving the car –*leaving in the garage for over a week or more. The electronics in the car apparently draw enough to drain the battery. So much so, that there is a section in the owner's manual on how to use a "quick charger" applied to a special connection in the fuse panel that will supply enough juice to the circuitry to allow using the electronic latch and gain access to the front luggage compartment – which is where you access the battery for doing a jump start. In my manual, the emergency unlock procedure is on pg. 294. The jump start procedure is on pg. 300. You can get a battery trickle charger to keep everything fully charged. Really, it only takes 4 or 5 days for the battery to start performing poorly on start up because of discharging.

Do it yourself and save a ****load. VERY easy to work on, believe it or not - the designers actually had a brain. My Porsches have all been easier to work on than my Hondas or VWs.
