Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Recent shot at P. dealer.
Was suppose to change the front lip to a GT2 RS one but the old one is epoxied in... so have to take of the whole damn bumper.
I'll do it at the same time as putting the new DTC carbon steering wheel.. should get that next week
.
Got a bit bored with the "clean" pcar look so I had a couple of changes done...satin black wheels and tinted windows. I'm also thinking satin black hood wrap (not decided yet
)
+1 but I would continue the wrap onto the roof.
Nice thing of the wrap is when ya get tired of it you can always just remove it and it protect the silver finish of the hood while it's covered

Very nice conversion as previously stated.
From the pic, your center vent grill on your front bumper seems a bit crooked. Glad you were able to find some running lights for the turbo bumper. I see you got the newer mk2 997 headlights as well. Good Job
Btw, wheels on on the black look to be OZ Ultra or Superleggeras. Always forget which is which...

18x8.5 +41 offset (with 8mm spacers) 225/40, I might change it to 235 or 245...
18x11 +60 offset (with 15mm spacers) 275/35 for now,
305/30
soon, just waiting for these to wear out.
The wheels were originally silver spokes with polished lip and rivets. But now it's gloss black.... I'm also selling them but I'm not allowed to sell/trade on this forums (banned)
...
Nine-eleven, have a pic of the rims for us to see. So if you jump from 235 to 245 does this mean stiffer sidewall too? I know the width is slightly wider in the back with a 305 but how does this effect ride quality.
Quote:
You are correct on the offset substituting the spacers millimeter. I will look in my album today...
Quote:
Will do man.

I will have some rims pictures. Now the rims are (gloss black) figured it's more aggressive with the way the car sound (loud *** hell) with straight pipes and muffler delete.
If I go from 225 (current) to 245 it would actually be a bit harder to steer but not dramatically change the whole steering response. Side wall is about the same. 305 in the back will have more grip and gas guzzler rather than 265/275. But not so much noticeable on the gas...
My thing about "POKE WHEELS" and "STRETCH TIRES" .....
I like the wheels flushed to the fender NOT sticking out way too much. That way it enhance the handling and stance of the car but not over exaggerating it.
I like the tires when it's a square setup. Meaning not too stretched. Like if my wheels are 18x11.5 I would wanna put a recommended size which is around 305/315.
That's more of big boys style rather than stretching the tires and poking the wheels out.
Quote:
Read my comment above about stretch and poke. Even if it turns to it, there's nothing you can do about it. It's their car, it's their poke. That's what makes it beautiful, different tastes on cars and style, that's what car enthusiast is about. If we all drove the car same model same everything. The world will be boring.
Generally: Nice cars wouldn't have anything to compare with out ugly cars. It'll all be the same. So some how we have to thank those differences.
Quote:
Fully agree with you, there's no right or wrong and we can all agree to disagree on things. That's what makes the forums great.
Or else we'd all be "assimilated" by the Borg. lol
I was just stating my opinion and outlook on things especially with some of the guys wanting to go wider than feasible just for show.
Quote:
"Poke" is a relative term these days as there are many variances of opinion but the original term that meant any lip of the wheel sticking past the fender was considered "Poke".
Can't really tell from this angle if your lip protrudes past your fenders but you're definitely on the mild side. You definitely have some stretch going on but you stated that you will be updating the tires later. It will be interesting when you update the tires if you'll need to roll/pull your fenders or not. I guess you could always decrease the spacer thickness as well if your inners aren't hitting your suspension.
Either way, kudos for finishing up the MK2 conversion.
Quote:
Yeah I'm well aware of "poke" flush, hellaflush, stance, and wrong fitment cars. I actually hang out with guys that has super stretch tires and what not. But I stand behind what I like and I don't get influenced by the hype. Besides I know what NOT to do on a Porsche 911. As I stated I like flush to fender look that's it nothing over the fender on stretch tires. Yes I'm throwing 305/30 on the rear and 245/35 front. I also pre-rolled my front and rear fenders to be ready for the 305 or 315. My back spacing is fine with or with out spacers.
Thanks the MKII conversion I did myself in my garage, made a temporary paint booth in the garage with filter of course. I installed everything, wired the lights and painted everything as well as wetsand and buff... People ask what shop I took it to becasue they wanna get their cars painted and said it looks good.
Hi Guys,
I'm new to the forum and picked up my 996 about a month ago. I just wanted to post a couple pictures of my "new baby". I'm happy to be on this site and have learned a lot with pouring through the information. Thanks for that! Chris
Here are some with the top down and my favorite passenger. Soft top too and I raised it 1" and aligned it. It was too low to get into and out of my work. scraped regardless of the angle I took. It still looks low, but no scraping now.
Nine_Eleven: that looks gangster as f! I love it. Nice touch with the yellow calipers. Where you at in the bay? WOuldn't mind seeing what your ride looks like with smoked rears and smoked side markers. Either way, looks great!

Thanks man, future mods GT3RS 996MKII wing, I might go yellow theme (yellow mirrors, yellow roll cage, etc) But not too much. Haven't we met before at Weksos 2011? and The BIG meet at Stoneridge? Or is that someone else with the same car setup?
Do you have the following parts?
- Mesh 19" wheels
- GT3 MKI (taco) wing
- C4S/Turbo/GT2 (side vents) rear bumper
- TechArt 99-01 front bumperl?
- Also do you have a friend that has a 911 993 C4S light blue RUF paint?
I'm around Concord/East Bay area. There's a lot of Porsche around but don't really know them, mostly stock and just drives it.

If so, check out the info I posted on my previous post.

Where's the fogs? There some used ones on ebay right now for $150/piece obo
Might want to snag them up.
Still can't believe you were able to fit the stock turbo rear bumper without cutting. Does the center bow out from the bumper support or does it sit flush on it?
Nine Eleven
: yeah, that's not me. I do believe that Sky213 and i have driven past each other a few times though. lol
This is my ride:
That Euro Sunday thing sounds cool but unfortunately have some prior engagements. Have fun!
Oh now I see. I think I remember this car tan interior goes well with the blue paint and gold wheels. Nice car. Where are you in Norcal?
EuroSunday is every 3rd of the month here in the East Bay. But they are not doing it in December because of the holidays. Go to Meetup.com/eurosunday. Then search in East Bay.

hey, is that a vortech?? that is pretty....i have the vortech on mine and i was wanting more power, whats your suggestions?? it is currently running about 6psi, dynoed 408rwhp..
thx
Quote:
thx a lot.... it never got dynoed before the s/c upgrade etc. so im not sure exactly how much power it added. best dyno was the 408whp though..... ill try to get better pics, just hard sometimes. dont get to drive her much..
Quote:
If you want more power then that will open up a can of worms... you can go with a smaller pulley... but that will induce slippage. You can tweak def the mac and tune, but you are now into custom work and that requires bi $$$. Enjoy the mod.... it can be driven as a daily driver as that was the intent of the kit. If you need more power.... I would get another car.
But better yet.... take it to the track, you'll soon realize that it is the driver that needs the most upgrade.
