Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The plan is to connect to the phone connector in the center console using Adam's kit.

I'm now using a MagSafe charger for it and wiring in the power for the charger.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey all. I'm trying to so one of those quick jobs that is tiring into a right PITA. I've got Yaz's phone mount, which is great. I'm now using a MagSafe charger for it and wiring in the power for the charger. The plan is to connect to the phone connector in the center console using Adam's kit.
Where I'm hitting a problem is that I can't find the existing connector cable to join with. It should be in the center console but I've taken the phone thing apart and have yet to find it. Can anyone suggest where the cable comes from so that I can try and find the loom and then trace it to wherever it's ended up?
For reference, it's a 2002 C4S coup, it's RHD as I'm in the UK but that shouldn't make a difference.
I've attached some pics of what I'm looking at.
Thanks, t looks like it comes down from the upper part of the console from your picture, which is what's missing in mine.
I need to find out where it comes from to see if I can trace it to something
Is the phone connector a US only thing? I've been through all the wiring now and it's definitely not in there. I think I'm going to have to find another switched power source. Either running a line from the fuse box with a tap or cutting into the loom somewhere which is less ideal.
I just found this posted on Renntech 20 years ago:
"Only the 1997 Boxster had 3 wires. All other years including the 996 4 wires.
Standard in the US but an option in the UK - believe it or not."
Also sent you a couple emails.
