Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone know the best way to lock spoiler in up position, and still be able to lower it if needed..?

POST 2Original post

Mechanically lock the curved rams in place - anything works, I've seen people just stick a bolt in there. The teatray works like a window regulator, if it encounters resistance it'll stop trying to lower the spoiler.

Thanks for the reply... Didn't know the spoiler was like the windows and stopped if it encounters resistance... Good to know. But was really looking for the correct wires in the engine bay that I could splice in a water proof mini switch,,, if thats possible..?

POST 4Original post

Why not raise it up and remove the spoiler relay(s)? Behind the seats under the deck carpet...

No, not true for either of my cars, 996.1 & 996.2 When activated by the button, spoiler still goes down eventually. Seems after getting up to speed, then back down to slow speeds, and then it goes back down most of the time...

Thanks for that relay diagram. Might try to remove the down relay and just wire in a high amperage switch hidden in engine bay, to replace the down relay. Wonder how many amps it draws, isn't it a 7.5 amp fuse..?
