Probably a combination of all the above but I suspect that the longer exhaust excuse they used for the GT4RS combined with the petrol particulate filter will be some of the reason.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Con someone please explain how the newer, larger capacity F6 in the current Cayman GTS has slightly less power/torque (294kW/430Nm) than the last pre-turbo 991 Carrera GTS (which had 316kW/440Nm).  Is it tuning, engine design, software, magic, higher RPM for the peak (i.e. 7000 for the 718 v's 7500 for the 911), or some combination of these?  Thanks:)

POST 2Original post

Probably a combination of all the above but I suspect that the longer exhaust excuse they used for the GT4RS combined with the petrol particulate filter will be some of the reason.

POST 3Original post

Tuning. Same 4.0l engine outputs 309kw in the GT4. With headers and exhaust it can be tuned to output more than the 316kw of the 991 Carerra GTS.

POST 4Original post

Porsche making sure it doesn't disrupt the performance pecking order in its model hierarchy
