Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Before I go to the body shop Id like to see what to expect and since many here on the forum have gotten things painted Id like to know how much my items would run. Im going to be painting a set of Speedster Humps, '03 rear bumper, and center console. these will all be painted speed yellow. what do would you guys estimate this to come out too? thanks

POST 2Original post

Depends on how much preparation is required. Expect $400 to $800.

POST 3Original post

Anywhere between $1000-1700. With paint work, you pay for what you get. Don't you have to replace the spoiler also to retrofit the 03 bumper to an earlier car? I believe it's completely different.

POST 4Original post

Paul's estimate sounds right, if you pay cash and find the right person in your town getting a decent deal on a simple shoot like that should be fairly easy. My bumper cover was only $500 but I knew the guy very well.

POST 5Original post

Speedster Humps (both sides) min. $600 Rear Bumper Cover min. $400 Center Console min. $380. (I recommend you do a core exchange with Bumperplugs)

POST 6Original post

We are talking about handing ready to paint parts to the painter, correct? No removal or installation costs are included in my estimates.

POST 7Original post

I could not find a decent body/painter up here. So I placed an ad on craigslist for paint and body wanted. Got about 6 replies and narrowed them down to a guy I want to deal with, called references...He is a One man operation, proper booth, his shop holds only 2 cars at a time. Paints only foreign cars. Now that I re-installed the engine and tranny I am ready for paint. RT and LFT quarter panels, decklid, front and rear bumpers (i remove) and half both doors for blending (i remove doorhandles and vents) $1000.00 cash.

POST 8Original post

If those Speedster humps are fiberglass, there's no such thing as "ready to paint". When they spray that gelcoat, it's never even and there's a lot of sanding involved before prime and paint.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
