Anyone wanna help a poor guy out? As a 50 year long P-car enthusiast, I am pretty facile with these cars in general. I still have my 73
911
and only got the
986
because I still wanted to track something and my son had an early Box and I made the mistake of driving. This car is about 90% right and I recently found the P0660 code with out a CEL coming on. Shocked to find there is nothing about this on most of the forums outside of what it does or means.
Any pictures or diagrams of where I would look for how to address
the P0660 code on my porsche 986 M96 engine?
I would be much obliged and any help greatly appreciated.
This conversion was done in about 2016 and I've been mostly happy. Initially, throttle response was super crisp and I was very happy. I have Durametric and I am running the Softronic tune specifically for the conversion. Of note, we had to go back and tweak tune because the car lives in the mountains at 7500'. Scott, says once the tune is in the ecu, it cannot escape.
However about a week after we had things dialed in, (after realizing the car was not optimized due to tune being geared to sea level...) With new tune and amazing throttle response, I had the induction air tube disconnect from the TB when I was driving and from that point forward, after reconnecting the car simply didn't feel as crisp or responsive.
Back then, I had the ability to reload the tune as often as I wished--but this has now changed because Scott no longer supports the tune as a stand-alone file on my computer. I was methodic in checking for vacuum leaks, I checked MAF, checked anything that could have come unplugged, cleaned TB and since then (10K miles), changed plugs and coil packs. My butt dyno tells me the car runs fine (no surging, pops off ea start, pulls to redline without fail, no smoke, smell, etc...) but it still feels soft and the motor was a low mileage 3.6 with compression tests provide (and verified) that were excellent. It runs like the 3.2 did prior. It burns no oil nor coolant. When I go to blip, throttle, it is lazy. It almost seems as though we lost the altitude tune. This weekend I hooked up the Durametric for 1st time in years and low and behold there was the P0660 which I never saw before --so I have no idea how long it has been there. The car idles perfectly and RPM's drop once warm like they should.
Where would one go to compare loggings of all engine parameters to compare to an optimally running 3.6? I only know some basics. I can run scans and log if someone might be willing to assist me with interpretation. Calls and emails to Scott have not been returned.
