Suggestion

I have utilized the guidelines from the Porsche manual and measured the distance of 195mm from lip of the rubber seal around the storage box opening to the middle of the ball on the transmission arm, also set the pushrods to have the top all the way to closed position without latching.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have a 1999 Porsche Boxster 986 , and I have replaced all the parts related to the Storage Lid compartment for the convertible top. Track, arms, bushings, pushrods, updated to new style transmissions, and replaced the top with one with glass window. The clamshell will seat properly closed when top is up and closed no issue. I cannot figure out what needs to be adjusted to get the clamshell to fully close when top is down. It stays up about1 1/2" - 2" up from laying flush like it does when top is up and lid closes properly. I have utilized the guidelines from the Porsche manual and measured the distance of 195mm from lip of the rubber seal around the storage box opening to the middle of the ball on the transmission arm, also set the pushrods to have the top all the way to closed position without latching. I cannot figure out what needs to be adjusted (pushrods shortened, adjust the caps at the end of the pushrod shorter, or ? Can someone provide some guidance as I have just run out of ideas as to how to fix the problem! Thanks!!
