Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice on which is the most suitable diagnostics tool (other than Porsche proprietary etc) to use. I have an Autel MK8088 and used it to scan my project car and it only returned some Alarm Module issues and nothing else. So I'm wondering if it is not able to read the other modules in the car and whether there is another tool that can. Thanks

POST 2Original post

I have the enthusiast version of the Durametric. It’s as old as the car, I am amazed at all of the things that can be done with it. My only criticism of the device is it is cumbersome because it has to plug into a laptop, which you need close to the OBD II port, as well as some messing around with the emergency flashers. Others on this site have said the Foxwell is good, the only reason I haven’t upgraded to that is because I’m used to the Durametric.

POST 3Original post

Thanks for the tip.. I'll look inot it. My assumption is that it will work in the UK as well and isn't bound by any zones etc?

POST 4Original post

I’m pretty sure that it will work no matter where you live, here’s a link to what I’m talking about. I’m sure you could send them a question like that and they would respond to you.
