I bought it for use on mine before I realized the 6-speed didn't need it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Time to change transmission fluid on my 2.7L. Anybody know where to get a 16mm anti-tamper triple square at a reasonable price? Found the Hazet 2567-16 online for $43 but surely there is a more economical solution. Or if you can loan me the bit for a week or two, I'll of course pay all shipping charges.

POST 2Original post

I did it with a vice grip then dremeled out the center and put it back in with a normal bit. Sorry to be shade tree but that is how I got it done. The right tool is better but this was free and didn't hut a thing.

POST 3Original post

I have the Hazet bit, brand new, I'll sell you for $25 shipped. I bought it for use on mine before I realized the 6-speed didn't need it.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks; I'll buy it from you.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For the benefit of future DIY weekend warriors, Paragon Products sells a transmission drain plug socket for $36.95. Still expensive but it saves a few dollars over Hazet. http://www.********************************************************************.com/Tamper_Proof_Socket_p/st0229.htm Or take JAAY's approach and drill out that pesky pin.
