Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys! Its been awhile since I posted...not even sure if this is the right place to ask. Anyways, I recently moved to Austin for a short-term contract and saw this 03 C4S at a small dealer by my apt. Spoke with sales and everything seems to be on the up and up (i.e. service records, carfax, one owner). Asking price is low $30ks with ~91k miles. I do plan to get a PPI if I decide to pull the trigger on this one...but what less obvious issues should I worry about besides RMS? Here's some shots of the car... http://signature-auto-leasing.ebizau...aigsList&pid=1

Hey Guys and Gals, Well, I'm back from the "dark side." After three years of Corvettes I've just taken delivery of an 04 C4S Cab. My P Cars before this one were a 996 C2 Coupe, a 993 C2 Cab, a 964 Cab and a Boxster S. This one is light years better than what came before it. Sorry for the lousy pics but I'll get better ones when it's not the first day of the car Oh, and yes I realize that they are mostly a$$ shots, butt it's her best feature. Take Care, Joe Cortney

Quote: Thanks, I agree. My problem is I can't figure out anything to do to it. I mean, the first change is usually the cans. I had Fabspeeds on the last car and was all set to order a pair, then Porsche has to go and surprise the hell out of me with the Sport Exhaust. It sounds just perfect to my ears and no resonance at all. Next, would have been painting the console... nope that's done too.. The shoes are brand new so can't make a change there... Ah, here's one, no NAV! Ok, that can be handled this weekend (Kenwood 8120). That leaves only wheels.. ok, something I can sink my teeth into but how long can that take. What am I going to do once that's done.... This is a real problem. Joe

Quotes source post: 2090776

Quote: let's not kid ourselves, joe. there's PLENTY you can do to your stock c4s.

POST 54Original post

I agree there's lots of little things. Clear side lights, Red S for the rear, painted non-smoker kit, short shift kit, C4S mats... all that crap is ordered. I think the body is perfect the way it is so, no wings for me. Tires and wheels will take a bit of shopping. Lowering, well I need to talk to some folks first to hear how it will effect the ride and handling. Can't do much to the engine as I don't want to void the Certified warranty. 100 cell cats, that might work. Cold air with an ECU upgrade might work as well but, I'd really love to find someone with a 4 wheel dyno so that it can be tuned properly. Anyway, like I said, lots of little things. I guess the wheels/tires will be something I can sink my teeth into for a while. I welcome any and all suggestions on how to spend my disposable income before Nancy Pelosi takes all of it.

I actually forgot the offsets, but IIRC they're the same front and back for my Work Brombachers setup. I believe it was 52+, but I could be wrong. Peter @ Wheelexperts will know for sure. He's really the best guy on wheel fitment. Fronts are 8.5s with 235/35.

POST 75Original post

Quotes source post: 2097400

Quote: what up pimpin thank you for the comments on the photo's. I didnt take em, my Vdub boys took em (they know all those settings and ****, SLR blah blah blah...) I took the Pcar in a little different direction which kinda defeats the purpose but really, i live in Chicago the third largest city in the USA. I have no time for a track or autocrossing. If i did track it, i would just use the stock wheels. since ive always been into the VIP styling of JDM rides and the Euro look of Vdubs i wanted to incorporate that a little into the S. So I decided to use a set of new Dunlop tires i had left over from my E46 M3 (yes i am also a E46 to 996 convert) and stretch the tires on my wheels. took off the 315's and now riding 275/30/19 in the rear and have 225/30/19 in the front. I also picked up spacers and pushed the front and rears out a little more to give it that aggressive stance. I also lowered it on the PSS9's to get the fend gap just right. car doesnt rub at all, unless i have a fat *** in the car (thats my one friend, he is 6'3 over 300lbs though). other than that, fronts are good and rears a even better. if your wondering why one side is red (like the way i bought them) and one side is black (gloss black lip) its because they GOT ME..... the valet at the club, they curbed my wheels =(. pics of my old M3:
