Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

In what context? Lizard green will be the bigger challenge, if you are thinking of resale….. many wouldn’t want a bright green,,personally I love python but wouldn’t touch lizard as it’s too yellow.

POST 2Original post

Personally I think Lizard is better than Python but then the only greens I like are birch and acid especially on a GT product. But the biggest no no imo is that ghastly glass sunroof that you find on none gt 911s which can spoil the colour of the body and black or gold wheels

My question was more related to the trinity of performance mods as must haves?

Lizard adds about 5k straight away over black white grey or silver but my question is regarding the 3 the trinity items which I understand are essential options Edited by barriejames on Saturday 5th September 18:30

I don’t consider those as trinity items, I’d want some form of sport plus seat, sports exhaust, Bose, rear camera as most critical options.

The "PTS / Special Paint" Premium Because Lizard Green is a highly loud, distinctive enthusiast colour, it suffers much less depreciation than basic paint choices. On standard trims (like a Carrera S or GTS), a Lizard Green exterior often commands a £3,000 to £5,000 premium on the used market simply due to its rarity. Those are well known trinity items I believe but they are for handling more than comfort items, The exhaust was already in the three listed. Could be wishful thinking on my part!! POST 7Original post

If that is the holy trinity then 90% of the market for that model is deemed holy with sports seats and sports exhaust - all have for the most part. PDCC is rare only because it isn't loved. Most prefer no PDCC - to retain a traditional, natural amount of body roll and weight transfer feedback during spirited cornering. Not sure PDCC guarantees a higher premium. Koln-RS said: Certain options are quite marmite and might be desirable to some people, but despised by others - colour, PDCC, RWS, Sunroof, Privacy Glass, Lowered (firmer) suspension And, whilst some might like a highly spec d car, each box ticked can add more and more unwelcome weight (unless like PCCBs, LWT glass or roof, manual gearbox, etc, they actually lighten the car). I’d actively avoid a car with lwt glass. Problematic / fragile in my personal experience, ditto I’d now never buy anything with a centre lock / PCCB combo. Tastes change 20 years ago I’d have paid a premium for an aero kit car, now I’d not touch one. Having seen how difficult it is to sell a manual car, I’d also stick with pdk on the newer cars.

POST 9Original post

I’d spec I car with the options I want. I’m buying it for me not for the next owner.

POST 11Original post

The OP has bought a used car. You don’t get to spec those.

POST 12Original post

Personally I don’t think there is a holy trinity of extras for a non Gt 911 as there is a bum for almost every flavour . For me less is more when it comes to a modern sports car, for instance my choice with a modern not GT 911 would be is it the right colour , does it not have a glass sunroof if a coupe ,does it have sports seats and sports exhausts everything else is window dressing but somebody else it would be all bells and whistles on the car.

That defies logic. Why do people and sellers bang on about massive option lists if they are of no importance? If some buyer from new has ticked 35k in o options surely most people would pick that car over one with 5k worth when buying used if similar price? The Holy Trinity is well discussed in 911 forums also.

POST 14Original post

Never heard of the holy trinity myself (Except for 3 unbelievable mountain passes in the Swiss alps) but a lot of buyers do add options to their cars purely because the OPC has said “You’ll have issues come resale time without the flux capacitor etc ..” and also some lucky individuals have more money than sense so just add everything because they can. I personally love a bright car and the OPs looks great but then I don t have an issue with centrelocks, love a sunroof and don’t have any plans to sell until I have to, so what do I know! Never heard of holy trinity of options. I would pay more for Indischrot or Signalgelb Options are irrelevant to me - the fewer the better tbh Bucket seats would make me pay 5k more, the above colours another 5k - all of the rest would be irrelevant to me. And some type of light green would not be attractive to me on anything other than a 997 GT or maybe at a stretch an F model All personal opinions - I don’t buy my cars for resale anyway

The Holy Trinity is well discussed in 911 forums also. Just because a used car has more options at the same price doesn’t make it more appealing to me as said most of those options will be window dressing and irrelevant to how the car drives. The glass sunroof for instance adds weight where you don’t want it, compromises the chassis stiffness and is more to go wrong, if I wanted that type of car I would buy a cab, moreover a Boxster

I think the two only 3 options that are decisive in a buying decision are. Front lift, Carbon Seats and PDK/Manual. The rest are just cosmetics and come down to personal taste and willingness to pay.
