I changed mufflers (Fabspeed) and wanted a chance to hear it, so we went out in the country and my wife drove it back and forth a little.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

jayfunk. be careful with running those 275 tires in the rear. you're going to burn our your differentials.. check out this thread:
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ire-se-up.html
and benjamin you saying i'm weaksauce with my 11" techart rears?
dude jay, with that 4-5% difference, i would HIGHLY recommend changing out those rear tires... every inch you drive your car you're killing your front differitial
and that's like a $5,000+ repair bill
Joe, I think I saw your old M3 today (if you traded it in recently) when I went to pick mine up. It was parked in front of my C4S.
Anyway, here's my old M3 and my new C4S:
2009 C4S right off the truck!
More pics this weekend if it's sunny and after I detail it again.

it's a popular color... period and will be popular for as long as cars are made.
why is it popular? because a lot of people like it. why is burgundy not a popular color? because many less people like it.
so all of y'all saying you have a special edition color and that you're unique... dennis rodman is unique, too.
Here is a fall photo. One of the few I have where the car is moving! I changed mufflers (Fabspeed) and wanted a chance to hear it, so we went out in the country and my wife drove it back and forth a little. Really fun to hear! Took a few photos too, but just post my favorite.
PS: Color is Orient red with Natural Brown interior

looks bad **** aerokitted lowered huge 19s on it. well done. i bet you break hella necks in that car. my ride def does. it's crazy and humbling.
to people who say the 997 looks so much better than the 996.. you guys are conservative fools. it doesn't. they look different and brando's car shows how the 996 mk2s are aging so well. it still looks fresh and it came out in 2002 or like what 6+ years ago??
the trend today is for headlights to be more aggressive, bigger, angled... and the 996s mk2 lights look just as if not more modern than the throwback/vw bug style round headlights on the 997.
pinky lai did a great job.

I couldn't agree more. The lower vents, the wide tires, the dual exhaust, and the big fat rear is one helluva combination. Sometimes I just open my garage and stand back to look at the back of it.

Looks like some have been going in the lower half of the $30k range. That's prob about the extent I can do. Have an e36 M3 to trade with cash, but I doubt that would stir up much interest on this board.
Quote:
No worries. I'd much rather aim for the $30k mark if I can find one. Surprisingly, it isn't as uncommon as I would have originally expected. I have a little more to work with, but I'd rather save extra for if/when things break, investing, etc than to spend it all up front.
Any regrets going from e46 m3 to 996?
Quote:
Well I had a Ducati in between the two but no pretty much none. I miss the backseat in the M3 and I miss the trunk but other than that not really anything. The M3 was my dream car for a long time and still is. The C4S is just a great car for the money. Its in a different league IMO. Don't buy one for near 30k. Save up. Things do break and the C4S is not a cheap car to buy parts for. Plus Porsche charges about $120 an hour for labor. Im pretty sure I can hire a lawyer for that.

Don't worry. The viscous coupling in the drive line will obsorb most of the difference. As long as your traction control doesn't kick in, your fine.
