I just did this, there were some old forum posts where they said you could use an additional plug from an unused harness, but I did not have one.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I replaced my comfort seats with sport seats this evening. I thought I had everything connected properly, but the forward/backwards power tilt function is not working on the drivers side sports seat. Could this be related to the drivers seat memory module (996.618.537.01)? I figured it was no longer needed with the sport seats. Any other ideas? Before and after shots included for the hell of it

POST 2Original post

My car had comfort seats with the memory module as well. After installing sport seats, every time I have R&R'd the sport seats the driver side fuse blows (I never disconnect the battery). Just a WAG, have you checked the fuse?

POST 3Original post

You need to repin the red power cable from one of the harnesses for the memory module and seat it into the main connector for the sport seats. it's going to be a thicker red cable on both sides of the harness. Your sport seats are not getting power.

POST 4Original post

Passengers side is not having this issue because there is no memory module, a single harness, and it's plug and play.

POST 5Original post

Mine is the same - I got it wired in at a shop, but now, the Sports Seats power functions only work in increments, not continuous, power. So you have to reclick the button every 2 seconds. A bit annoying.

yes i see the thicker red cable now. Its plug and play on the passenger side, but not the drivers side. Any tips on how to repin it?

I just did this, there were some old forum posts where they said you could use an additional plug from an unused harness, but I did not have one. It looked like the cheapest replacement seat harness is around $140 on ebay, so I chose to just splice the wires using separate bullet connectors and I zip tied the red wire to the main harness.
