Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have thoroughly enjoyed owning a GT3, but have found little opportunity to use it over the last year and don't think this year will be any different. It's originally a German car, and considering our economies and the exchange rate I'm minded to advertise it for sale to a German audience. So... - is mobile.de still the best bet for an advert? - are there any issues that would hinder a buyer importing the car - does it help that I've kept the original clipped Fahrseugbrief? - any advice on the transaction, and how to ensure receipt of cleared funds? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Hi Piloti! I am based in Germany - it will certainly help that you have kept the original Fahrzeugbrief, not only regarding the punters, but also deregistering. Other than that I'd deal with them as with any UK punter. On a side note there's less "professional" scammers in Germany (my personal experience anyway). Mobile.de and Autoscout24 is a very good start I reckon - I happily volunteer to translate your ad for you if you wish! I am currently in the market for a 993 turbo or RS - however I might be interested - PM me if you wish! Regards, Felix

POST 3Original post

Been discussed at length here recently. Suggest you search for "mobile.de" or similar, but I and a lot of others have done it recently and it is generally painless. Good luck! Be interesting to see if the outflux of the more desirable LHD cars (3TT,GT,RS etc) back to the continent has any effect on RHD prices. May well help strengthen them for these models

Worth having a chat with Dion at Elms - www.elmscollection.com He's recently sold a few Porsches into Europe for friends of mine.

POST 5Original post

To the OP - and anyone else planning to sell a car into the Eurozone - I suggest you do it now . Two factors are working against any delay. 1. Sharply weakening sentiment in Germany (which is where I'd expect the bulk of your market) will reduce your market opportunities; 2. A weakening euro will mean the bargain they might have priced two-three weeks ago is now about 8% more costly before transaction costs, further reducing your market opportunities. May I suggest that you factor in a pound to euro exchange rate of circa £1 = €1.25 for the next month or so, and plan your price accordingly. If you get better rates (i.e. a euro lower than 1.25, then you're quids in as long as you make the transaction and convert the euros quickly). Good luck, and please do let us know how you get on.

Many thanks for the advice I am looking to get moving, as I tend to agree with your assessments. I just need to get the car detailed and a new splitter fitted (the usual problem with the clips...) Whether it'll be worth repatriating any money made on the sale is an interesting thought...

I think "gave it away" might be a better description Still, some great memories and pleased I owned it. With no heating and no ventilation to speak of, I don't think I've ever been so cold or so hot in a car. Nor so wide-eyed (unintentionally sliding, leaving grey lines up the road, out of Pouhon) or elated (as before). I understand Thomas from H&S later ran it personally, so I guess it was a good 'un. Do you know where it is now?

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ho hum.... The car went in for an inspection and a new splitter yesterday. And it's going back in tomorrow for a new rad... Which leaves Friday to finish detailing it, and the weekend for photographs and to place the advert. At least the euro hasn't collapsed... Anybody know what full-house Manthey GT3 Mk1's are making in Germany?

bcnrml said: Good luck, and please do let us know how you get on. Well, it's been a little while, but I thought I ought let you know that the car sold, yesterday, to the first guy that saw it. It surprised me slightly to get serious enquiries from Finland, Germany, France and Italy - mobile.de obviously has an impressive catchment. The Finn bought the car, and I'm confident that I could have sold it to the German if we hadn't been able to agree a price close to asking. Sad, of course, to see a truly sensational car go, but also pretty pleased to be sitting on euros on the day that Merv says he's in the market for a load of green ink. Thanks to all for your thoughts and comments. I'll leave you, if I may, with one of the less serious enquiries that I got for the car. Enjoy... US Army Intelligence guy said: Hello Friend, I want to inform you that I will buy your car but I have a business proposal for you. I am a captain with the United Nations troop in Afghanistan, on war against terrorism. Based on the United States legislative and executive decision for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan come this year, I have been deployed to come and work in your country's military base soonest. Our mission is to help beef up terrorist targeted states, mostly the United States and the European Union on the war against terrorism. I will need a car for myself and that is why I contacted you. On the other hand I want to inform you that I have in my possession the sum of 6.2 million USD Which I got from crude oil deal. I deposited this money with a Red Cross agent informing him that we are making contact for the real owner of the money. It is under my power to approve whoever comes forth for this money. I wish to use this money for charity purposes in Turkey, where we have about 3 million Afghanistan refugees and Sudan where we have currently the highest numbers of refugees displaced as a result of war. You need to visit such places. I want to invest the money on stock fish from Norway to this refugees because base on my experience on battle ground in this places, they lack a lot of fish and meat to add to their meager and unpalatable meals which they get in little quantity just to keep them living until God knows when the problem ends. Instead of allowing these terrorists to get the money and spend it on purchasing arms from Russia, it is better channeled to saving the world. I cannot move this money to the United States because I will be in Europe for about 3years, so I need someone I could trust. If you accept, I will transfer the money to Europe where you will be the beneficiary because I am a uniformed person and I cannot be parading such an amount so I need to present someone as the beneficiary. I am an American and an intelligence officer for that so I have a 100% authentic means of transferring the money through diplomatic courier service. I just need your acceptance and all is done. Please if you are interested in this transaction I will give to you the complete details you need for us to carry out this transaction successfully. I decided to find someone that is real and not imaginary and that is why I went to a secured car site where I can be sure that the person is real. I believe I can trust you. Where we are now we can only communicate through our military communication facilities which are secured so nobody can monitor our emails, then I can explain in details to you. I will only reach you through email, because our calls might be monitored, I just have to be sure whom I am dealing with. If you are interested please send me your personal mobile number so I can call you for further inquiries when I am out of our military network. I am writing from a fresh email account so if you are not interested do not reply to this email and please delete this message, if no response after 3days I will then search for someone else. I am doing this on trust, you should understand and you should know that as a trained military expert I will always play safe in case you are the bad type, but I pray you are not. 6.2 million USD is a lot of money which is the dream of anyone. I wait for your contact details so we can go on. In less than 5days the money should have been noted on your account and I will come over for my money. I will give to you 30% of the sum and 70% is for me. I hope I am being fair on this deal. Regards, Capt. Mark Pohl.

We might be able to help you with the payment bit. We hold local accounts in Germany with Commerzbank and, from memory, local payments are virtually immediate. So while you're with the buyer, he transfers the money online, you ring us and we confirm receipt. You sign the car over to him and we would CHAPS you the pounds the same day. PM me if you're interested.
