Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

New 987 owner. Thinking about buying a set of Quick-Jacks ( QuickJack ). I have no experience with QuickJack and would like to get the highest lift possible. I've done a search but a lot of threads are older and discuss older models. Of the contemporary models, which are best suited for a 987.1? The car is slightly lowered but this is my first Porsche and I can't really say how much it's lowered vs. a stock 987.1. It appears the various "TLX" models are 76" long while the "TL" models are 70". I guess the most important factors are finding a model that fits the wheelbase and is low enough to fit beneath the car. Also, is there any chance there's a model that would be suitable to lift my 2021 Ram 1500 as well? I'm assuming not, but want to be sure. TIA.

POST 2Original post

I picked up a used 5000tl and it works fine. The quickjacks are a game changer. I can have the car safely in the air in 5 minutes. They also fit my E82 128i but are too short for my F10 5 series. Have not tried them on my F150 but its too easy to just use regular stands and a jack.

POST 3Original post

Thanks. You're probably right that they don't offer a ton of utility for the truck. It's not too hard to slide a jack and jack stands underneath. I'll keep my eyes on Marketplace for a Quickjack 6000TL for the 987.

POST 4Original post

I worked with a salesperson at BendPak (who makes QuickJack ) and based on the measurements I provided he recommended the 6000TL. So that’s what I got and it works perfectly. I considered the 8000TL but it makes the QuickJacks themselves about 25% heavier which makes them harder to maneuver. And, none of my cars weigh more than 6,000 lbs. I do wish I could have gotten the 6000TLX for added versatility, but I don’t think it would have fit between the wheels of my 987. As it is, it’s a pretty close fit, but works perfectly.

POST 6Original post

I picked up one earlier this year. 6000TL. Fits / works like it's custom made for the 987.1. Post lift would be much better but I don't have the height needed in my garage. I will foot-stomp this though. Do not try to make it work on something even a tad bit longer than the lift points on the 987.1.... my wife's Q3 fell off of my TL6000 & I thought it was within spec to work. Luckily the car wasn't too far off the floor when it happened.

POST 7Original post

I've had the 5000TL for 5 or 6 years and and after hard use at the track (with E36 and E46 BMWs - not used with the 981) it has held up well. Rain does not deter it from completing its mission!

POST 8Original post

for my 987.1 I bought the VEVOR Portable Car Lift - 7,000 LBS Capacity, 26.8" Max. Height, Heavy-Duty Carbon Steel Truck Lift with 120V Power Unit. Fits fine.

POST 9Original post

I’m sorry to hear about the Q3 and I’m glad nobody was hurt. Can you explain how it happened? I have the 6000TL and was planning on lifting out Jeep since it’s within spec (weight and jack point location). But, now I’m a little concerned.
