Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had the urethane lip painted on my other P. but it's freaking disaster!! The front lip gets way too much contact with the road up here... but at least I've gotten rid of the flat black side skirt and replaced those with Precision Porsche 997 GT street look ones. Gotta keep this thread going... the calling all cabs thread is starting to gain some ground. Anyway... here is my baby. It is an '02, 39k... ish miles, fairly stock but still looking pretty good in my somewhat tainted opinion!

POST 10Original post

Thanks man.... It had two previous owners who obviously babied it. I am doing my best to preserve the beauty, but given that it is driven everyday, and I am planning some track time in the VERY near future (and hopefully on a consistent basis) I'm not sure how long it will hold its' current look. I am looking at suspension options now, but not sure which way to go. I know it needs to be lower, but am strugling with the neverending question "how low should I go?".... Seriously I am just not sure how much adjustability I truly need in the suspension (ROW or a PSS10 for instance). Also trying to figure out if the car needs spacers with the stock wheels... Anyone have pictures of a stock wheel setup with and without spacers?

Quote: Thanks for the input. I might just try your "blend" of RP on my next oil change (unless someone seriously advises me against it, lol)

POST 37Original post

I was probably one of the biggest skeptics of Royal Purple as there are many of those gimmicks out there. As I found out with my previous cars, RP definitely seems to be a great oil alternative. I haven't tried it on my Porsche yet but on previous cars, they ran smoother and revved "easier" without sounding stressed. As previous poster noticed not too much difference with Porsches and I venture to guess that RP is more beneficial to high revving engines or track cars(example, 8-9k redline motors)

POST 38Original post

if it 'feels smoother' and it 'revs easier', its because you're using thinner oil and its not giving you as good of protection!

POST 39Original post

Now that's a beautiful Porsche! Keeping to its original design, without the makeup, makes it one of the most beautiful Porsches. I never tire of looking at its lines. You show extreme patience from being tempted into making external changes that are not original in design.

I going to take them off and paint all my bottom trim as a DIY this winter. I ordered the spray plastic flex primer, paint and clear coat from automotivetouchup.com. Ok, I'll cave and post pics of my "new" baby. It's a 2003 w/ ~55k. Bought it about 2 months ago from Dallas and drove home to the Washington DC area. Not a hint of trouble on the way and managed 27+ mpg to boot. Mods can be seen in the sig, but some of them are still unidentified Unlisted mods include turbo chin spoiler thingy, repainted flaking shift boot horseshoe, aluminum pedal covers, and aftermarket headunit, amp and subwoofer behind back seats. And of course the ashtray delete. Oh, and recently deleted clutch pedal helper spring. Anyway, here are a few pics. I didn't take them myself; they were taken by the dealer. They're the best I have at the moment! Glad to be in the Porsche family! Greg

The frustrations of the actual work and paying for it not so much ... but as long as your happy with the end result it's all worth it! I ended up going with Techart headlight masks, a 997 GT2 front bumper made to go on a 996 from Wicked Motor Works, Precision Porsche GT Street side skirts and a turbo decklid with an over-sized carbon fiber wing from Maxspeed Motorsports. Only thing left to do is the GT Street rear bumper. I know, it's stupid to spend copious amounts of money that you'll never get back... But what a ride!!! Good luck! Sid.
