Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 7Original post

I was probably one of the biggest skeptics of Royal Purple as there are many of those gimmicks out there. As I found out with my previous cars, RP definitely seems to be a great oil alternative. I haven't tried it on my Porsche yet but on previous cars, they ran smoother and revved "easier" without sounding stressed. As previous poster noticed not too much difference with Porsches and I venture to guess that RP is more beneficial to high revving engines or track cars(example, 8-9k redline motors)

POST 8Original post

if it 'feels smoother' and it 'revs easier', its because you're using thinner oil and its not giving you as good of protection!

POST 9Original post

Now that's a beautiful Porsche! Keeping to its original design, without the makeup, makes it one of the most beautiful Porsches. I never tire of looking at its lines. You show extreme patience from being tempted into making external changes that are not original in design.

Jon, Turbo P's look great....but they are too heavy. Caused traction control to freak out when pushed. Not just my car, guy I sold them to wound up re-selling them cause they did the same to his TT. I going to take them off and paint all my bottom trim as a DIY this winter. I ordered the spray plastic flex primer, paint and clear coat from automotivetouchup.com. As so little of it shows, I'm sure I can do it where it looks great. Key is in the prep work. Quote:

Ok, I'll cave and post pics of my "new" baby. It's a 2003 w/ ~55k. Bought it about 2 months ago from Dallas and drove home to the Washington DC area. Not a hint of trouble on the way and managed 27+ mpg to boot. Mods can be seen in the sig, but some of them are still unidentified Unlisted mods include turbo chin spoiler thingy, repainted flaking shift boot horseshoe, aluminum pedal covers, and aftermarket headunit, amp and subwoofer behind back seats. And of course the ashtray delete. Oh, and recently deleted clutch pedal helper spring. Anyway, here are a few pics. I didn't take them myself; they were taken by the dealer. They're the best I have at the moment! Glad to be in the Porsche family! Greg

POST 36Original post

Greg - Congrats buddy!!! Welcome to not only the Porsche Family, but also the C4S Family. I'm also in Northern VA (work in Reston). I used to live in Kingstowne Alexandria. Let me know when you want to get together. BTW - this is just the start of your modding. I ended up Twin Turbo'ing my C4S and absolutely love it. IMA Motorsport in Chantilly did it for me. Come by to some of the Cars & Coffee we have in the area. Go to the Mid-Atlantic Section on 6speed to see when the events are held. Berk

The frustrations of the actual work and paying for it not so much ... but as long as your happy with the end result it's all worth it! I ended up going with Techart headlight masks, a 997 GT2 front bumper made to go on a 996 from Wicked Motor Works, Precision Porsche GT Street side skirts and a turbo decklid with an over-sized carbon fiber wing from Maxspeed Motorsports. Only thing left to do is the GT Street rear bumper. I know, it's stupid to spend copious amounts of money that you'll never get back... But what a ride!!! Good luck! Sid.

Quote: Looks Hawt. BBS tends to play it safe and stick to factory offsets alot. I'm sure this plays into the liablility aspect since they have a high reputation and don't want to risk it in any way. I had to do the same with spacers for my BBS RS-GT's. BTW, if you want new bolts for 2 or 3 piece BBS wheels, they won't even sell it to you directly because of the liability factor. Ask me how I know...
