Suggestion
Had to run 15mm spacer on all corners to get it decent looking.

I had a ton of help from my friends at Protec motorsports in Greenville South Carolina, engine to trans, no problem, spec stage 2 + clutch, exhaust, bolted right up, Bill at Protec started on the electrical side, BUT i wanted to be able to run different tunes etc.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Last week finished my paintjob.Painted all the black spoilers seal grey and Rims in dark grey colour with silver lip and porsche crest. This is the best stock porsche wheels.....
Jon,
Turbo P's look great....but they are too heavy. Caused traction control to freak out when pushed. Not just my car, guy I sold them to wound up re-selling them cause they did the same to his TT.
I going to take them off and paint all my bottom trim as a DIY this winter. I ordered the spray plastic flex primer, paint and clear coat from automotivetouchup.com. As so little of it shows, I'm sure I can do it where it looks great. Key is in the prep work.

Heres afew of my 03 C4S with a X51 3.8 swap, full fabspeed exhuast, K&N cold air kit, programable Fabspeed ECU
Sorry bout the crappy pics, took em with my Blackberry!!
Not exactly plug-n-play, I am one of the sickest chassis, rollcage, suspension geometry mechanics you will find BUT electricials!!??!? i suck!! I had a ton of help from my friends at Protec motorsports in Greenville South Carolina, engine to trans, no problem, spec stage 2 + clutch, exhaust, bolted right up, Bill at Protec started on the electrical side, BUT i wanted to be able to run different tunes etc. so we shipped her up to Fabspeed, a couple grand later, POW animal C4S im sorry i wish i could tell you more, ill look at my files on the car this week and give you more

If it only took a couple grand to sort out the tuning based on your mods, I say you did very well.
Did you port anything over from the older motor(sensors, manifold, etc)?
Ok, I'll cave and post pics of my "new" baby. It's a 2003 w/ ~55k. Bought it about 2 months ago from Dallas and drove home to the Washington DC area. Not a hint of trouble on the way and managed 27+ mpg to boot.
Mods can be seen in the sig, but some of them are still unidentified
Unlisted mods include turbo chin spoiler thingy, repainted flaking shift boot horseshoe, aluminum pedal covers, and aftermarket headunit, amp and subwoofer behind back seats. And of course the ashtray delete. Oh, and recently deleted clutch pedal helper spring.
Anyway, here are a few pics. I didn't take them myself; they were taken by the dealer. They're the best I have at the moment!
Glad to be in the Porsche family!
Greg
Greg - Congrats buddy!!! Welcome to not only the Porsche Family, but also the C4S Family. I'm also in Northern VA (work in Reston). I used to live in Kingstowne Alexandria. Let me know when you want to get together. BTW - this is just the start of your modding. I ended up Twin Turbo'ing my C4S and absolutely love it. IMA Motorsport in Chantilly did it for me. Come by to some of the Cars & Coffee we have in the area. Go to the Mid-Atlantic Section on 6speed to see when the events are held.

Picked her up with 39K miles ... love it! First Porsche for me, looking forward to lots of miles and smiles!
Coffee break in Blackhawk...
Going over Loveland Pass (A-Basin ski runs in the background) ...

Tons of P. owner which prefer to keep it stock, that said, I'm not one of them
.
There's a lot of options out there and choosing which to go with is half the fun.
The frustrations of the actual work and paying for it not so much
... but as long as your happy with the end result it's all worth it!
I ended up going with Techart headlight masks, a 997 GT2 front bumper made to go on a 996 from Wicked Motor Works, Precision Porsche GT Street side skirts and a turbo decklid with an over-sized carbon fiber wing from Maxspeed Motorsports.
Only thing left to do is the GT Street rear bumper.
I know, it's stupid to spend copious amounts of money that you'll never get back...
But what a ride!!!
Good luck!
Sid.

beautiful, clean look inside and out. Did I see you driving in London in September? Suggestion: think about painting the "s" red to match the calipers. I haven't done this with mine because its silver. But against that beautiful grey a red "s" just might be very cool. Cheers, jl
Meh - some oldies but some goodies....vids of my twin turbo'd 4S

Just want to keep this thread going for the LOVE of the 996 4S!!!!
Haven't tried one yet but will based on your reco Jon. Was thinking of picking up a Wilson Combat Urban Tactical Rifle next as my next C4S accessory. You think Suncoast or Tequipment makes a rack for that? Hehehe.

Looks Hawt. BBS tends to play it safe and stick to factory offsets alot. I'm sure this plays into the liablility aspect since they have a high reputation and don't want to risk it in any way.
I had to do the same with spacers for my BBS RS-GT's.
BTW, if you want new bolts for 2 or 3 piece BBS wheels, they won't even sell it to you directly because of the liability factor. Ask me how I know...
I got rear 50et 19x11 and front 55et 19x8.5
Had to run 15mm spacer on all corners to get it decent looking.
I was disappointed with the offsets from BBS they looked really weak out of the box.
How do I get the BBS lug nuts is it true you have to convert to studs
and order from Japan?
Thanks

how did you get the 265/35/18 onto the 11x18 rims? i had my dealer try and they couldn't. cost me a bunch.
we concluded that only 285 or 295 tires would fit

lol it fits fine with an Awesome Strech, You need a Experianced and Competent Tire Shop to do it...
The Term for this Fitment is called "Strech & Poke" :P
My C4S has been sitting in the garage for 2 years. I haven't had a single service done and I'm looking to get it ready for this summer. Where should I begin? It also has an oil leak. Had a kid and wasn't able to drive it and I just couldn't bring myself to sell it.
Start with tire pressures and oil level before you move it... Then before you run it too long take it to a good shop nearby for an oil change and maybe a service...

First of all, baby seats fit in nicely in back. that is how my first one, '72 911S to my wife as a "family car."
as to service, oil and brake fluid flush. the coolant probably is OK, but have it checked.
once it it moving, use brakes hard to polish off pad and rotors.
wiper blades may also need to be replaced.
good luck.
drive baby drive

What's the chances that the oil leak is the RMS problem? Should I do an oil change to see if there is a still a leak?
What kind of booster seats fit in the back? I have no problems using it as a family car now that I have a toddler. The infant seat was too much of a pain to put in the back every single time.

Lousy excuse to blame "having a kid". I bought mine when my kid was 8 months old and have been using the C4S to shuttle her around. She loves the sound. Now that she's 2, I ask her which car she wants to ride in...always the 911 or the Boxster S and never the other bigger cars. Now that she has a 4 month old sibling, I guess the Boxster S is out of the question. But you better believe both of them will be in the back seat of the 911...
Nice Zookie,
If I tried that i'd be on You Tube with the title "911 drives through Tommy Hilfiger store window"
My first Porsche when I was a younger was a 914, that ended up in a ditch driving in the snow!!!
Wow that was neat. Like to try that some day. Live in Ft. Lauderdale so it won't happen soon, Just had a track day at Homestead/Miami Speedway. What a gas that was. Super fast cars.

lol ahaha true that... this is my First P-Car... currently shoping for a Newer P-Car :P
