Will I run into any issues running 235/35 front and 305/30 rears on a 19" rim?

I figured with all the C4S owners in this thread, this is probably the best place to get an answer to this question.

the Perilli that i ran for 4 Winters were 225/40/18 and 295/35/18 but i noticed at high speed (130kmph+) the PSM Light would kick in due to the Size Diffrence.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
75 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

My C4S has been sitting in the garage for 2 years. I haven't had a single service done and I'm looking to get it ready for this summer. Where should I begin? It also has an oil leak. Had a kid and wasn't able to drive it and I just couldn't bring myself to sell it.
Start with tire pressures and oil level before you move it... Then before you run it too long take it to a good shop nearby for an oil change and maybe a service...

First of all, baby seats fit in nicely in back. that is how my first one, '72 911S to my wife as a "family car."
as to service, oil and brake fluid flush. the coolant probably is OK, but have it checked.
once it it moving, use brakes hard to polish off pad and rotors.
wiper blades may also need to be replaced.
good luck.

What's the chances that the oil leak is the RMS problem? Should I do an oil change to see if there is a still a leak?
What kind of booster seats fit in the back? I have no problems using it as a family car now that I have a toddler. The infant seat was too much of a pain to put in the back every single time.

Lousy excuse to blame "having a kid". I bought mine when my kid was 8 months old and have been using the C4S to shuttle her around. She loves the sound. Now that she's 2, I ask her which car she wants to ride in...always the 911 or the Boxster S and never the other bigger cars. Now that she has a 4 month old sibling, I guess the Boxster S is out of the question. But you better believe both of them will be in the back seat of the 911...
Nice Zookie,
If I tried that i'd be on You Tube with the title "911 drives through Tommy Hilfiger store window"
My first Porsche when I was a younger was a 914, that ended up in a ditch driving in the snow!!!
Wow that was neat. Like to try that some day. Live in Ft. Lauderdale so it won't happen soon, Just had a track day at Homestead/Miami Speedway. What a gas that was. Super fast cars.

lol ahaha true that... this is my First P-Car... currently shoping for a Newer P-Car :P

I did contact Tire Rack to no avail. They don't have information on when Porsche will certify (N)the tire for the 996 C4S, et. al. I would love to get a set of these for the summer. Any information from anyone else?
I'm not sure why, but I don't appear to have posted a pic in this thread. Here's the one I use in my avatar - the C4S sitting on my street when we still lived in Indiana.
cool...you can navigate up or down the road, etc...my son was driving and making me nauseous when the google earth car went by...a great cruise by sundance resort
Wow! Just went through the whole thread and only one C4S Cabrio! Are they rare? I just sold my C2 Cab to get this car but never looked at production numbers. Guess I will have to look that one up.
Ok, I can't resist telling you guys about this trip we have planned to get our C4S. We fly out of Seattle on Monday to Phoenix. Pick up our 2004 Seal Gray C4S from Porsche North Scottsdale. Since I don't know how to post a picture into the post, the car is in my signature. First time working with these guys in Scottsdale. Anyone else ever work with them?
Below is our anticipated route. Please feel free to give any suggestions on great roads to drive or places to drive through or even places to eat and stay. However, we only have 6 days.
After delivery it is off to Vegas headed out the US-93 towards Kingman.
After Vegas we head to The Ahwahnee Lodge at Yosemite. Can anyone recommend Blue Star Memorial Hwy versus Three Flags Hwy?
From Yosemite we head West to San Leandro and then North to Calistoga. A referral for lodging here would be appreciated. Tried the Chanric Inn but it was booked.
Then it is up to Gold Beach Oregon following the 101 Hwy.
We continue up the 101 and cut over through McMinnville (wine country) to get to Portland.
Home bound up the I5.
The highlight for me truly is the C4S as it is a childhood dream come true. But I am just as excited to take my wife to The Ahwahnee Lodge. It will be a dream come true for her.
Can't wait!!!!! Thanks for indulging me. It's after 1am and I can't sleep

hahaha it's great you're that excited!
you'll love the cab!
As the only other C4S cab on this thread (presumable), welcome
Let us know how the trip went, good luck.
Cheers,
Sid.

Well we made it home safely! An amazing trip!
Let me start with the car. I have had a 993 and 996 previously but neither were AWD. What a completely different experience! Diving into the corners has taken on all new meaning
The car ran flawlessly. The sport exhaust plays the best note. I have since disconnected the "orange connection" in the motor box to keep it singing. The rims received a few small chips. The fact that they extend outside the lip doesn't help. A little bummed about that but oh well. I wouldn't trade it for the drive time.
Porsche North Scottsdale lived up to expectations and then some. They had a driver meet us at the airport. The car was as promised. They quickly switched out the marker lights for me before leaving. New key chains were handed out for each key. And I picked up a sweet 918 Polo along with some old posters to frame and put up in the garage. My wonderful wife stood back and just laughed at me. A kid in a candy store.
We hit very few interstates the whole drive. We took back roads as much as possible. Some of the highlights were watching the sunrise while barreling out of Vegas, crossing the Sierra Nevadas, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, San Francisco, Sonoma and Napa Valleys and Mt. Shasta. We had tons of sunshine and the top down most of the trip. We put nearly 2300 miles on the car. One day we just kept driving because we were having so much fun! 13.5 hours later we called it for the day
Here are a few photos.
Nice car and congrats. IMO, fly in/drive back purchases are the only way to buy these cars. I did the same but went from GA to IL, decent bit of twisties and elevation changes made it exciting.
I can't wait in a few years where I'm hoping to buy a new BMW M Euro delivery and drive the Nurburgring. Practicing on GT5 in preparation.
I figured with all the C4S owners in this thread, this is probably the best place to get an answer to this question. Will I run into any issues running 235/35 front and 305/30 rears on a 19" rim? Does the side wall have to be 25? There are more tire options for the 305/30 then 315/25. Will the rolling diameter cause issues with 305/30 on the rear with all-wheel drive? Thanks and this is by far the best picture thread.
I guess this is a fitting thread for my first post. Picked up a 2003 C4S in Houston last week and haven't stopped smiling since

Outstanding. the wheels are interesting and look good. you might want to think about switching the side markers to clear. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine. The car is a daily driver for me, and it's always a kick. And there's a twin turbo set-up on this thread by "boochook" you might also enjoy thinking about. Cheers,

now I'm going to have a look in my box in the attic...
did we all change them back in the day cause the euro cars had the clear and us cars were 'orange' ?
I really like your wheels. I think Im sold on getting my wheels painted since new wheels are out of the question with a house in escrow and our 2 year old baby. Thank you for sharing your pictures.

I actually wondered about this some time ago. It seemed to be a fad to change to the clear look several years ago. I just liked the clear look on the silver or grey cars. Personal preference thing I guess. Cheers....
Funny if you look in Japanese magazines as they try to do the opposite over there since a lot of cars come with clear lenses, they try to get the orange lenses instead.
