Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

All, I've mentioned in another post that my key cylinder was broke. I took the door apart and found the plastic paddle had broke just like so many others. Here's how I fixed it: - Carefully drilled a hole through the center of each side - Threaded each side with a small screw - Cut head off screw so both sides were threading - Filled hole with metal/plastic cement and screwed both ends together - Used shrink tubing in 2 layers to firm up battle - Reassembled and it works perfectly I hope this helps someone else

POST 2Original post

This thread desperately needs photos to be helpful. I sort of remember what the broken piece looks like, but I can't imagine exactly what you've done to fix it.

POST 3Original post

Ya, I didn't think to post here until I got it all reassembled. I'm gonna find a picture of the piece and post it.

POST 4Original post

Here is a picture of the plastic paddle that turns to unlock the door. It broke off about 0.5 inch from the base. So I drilled a small hole into both ends. Then I took a screw like the one attached and screwed it into each whole to "thread" the plastic. I then cut the head off the screw and twisted both ends together over the screw until it looked like the original plastic paddle. I then put heat shrink tubing over the whole plastic piece to keep it together with less flexing. Hope this helps.

POST 5Original post

Hi, did anyone have any ideas after seeing this photo? i have a 997 with the same problem. Trying to track down this part is a nightmare. would anyone have a detailed dimension drawing of this in order that I can explore making one. Thanks Colin
