I would also check your fuses to see if one is blown.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Last weekend my wife had a flat tyre so she was going to use my car instead. She jumped in, tried to move the seat forward but nothing happened. Is this a common problem and is there something I should be looking for in particular as a fix? The preset memory buttons work on the driver's mirror, and there is a sound coming from near the seat suggesting it is trying to move forwards or backwards and nothing is happening. Not in a great hurry to fix it as my wife cannot drive it until it is fixed; LOL!

POST 2Original post

There could be something blocking the seat track and obstructing the movement. I would also check your fuses to see if one is blown. However as you mention there is a noise it is likley that the seat motor is failing or failed. I can't seem to find any reference for seat motors on Pelican Parts. Need someone with a PET for 996 Model 911's.

POST 3Original post

Had the same issue on the 993. Check that the drive cable hasn't come out of the motor. That's where I would put my money.

POST 4Original post

Um t man I'd put money on Jenny Craig you would find there'd Work faster

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys, Although I am not sure about the reference to Jenny Craig! Will have a look under the seat this weekend and see what I can see / find.
