2010 boxster 2.9 . May I ask is the module under the drivers seat titled " Rear module " when viewed through
NT 530
? Here is the issue. Used car, flood damaged salvage title. Vehicle exhibited no external signs of excessive water but
Bose amp
terminals fried in a Pink liquid with light corrosion visible.I will fix it later. The Driver seat module, ( rear?) is in mint condition, but propped up on cardboard so as to never lie in the pool below, if ever again it were to accumulate. Looks like it might be replacement module as board quality is excellent. The Last 2 problems I am chasing in this new to me car, are convertible motor and spoiler operation. The pink corrosion on the
Bose amp
and accumulated stain I have traced to the heater core area , dripping down and filling the passenger floor with coolant from the core. Pink stain along tunnel onto floor is very visible under the carpets and white foam insulation. Every drain in this car was plugged, every one!
So we come to the question finally, please don't be mad. It looks as though the "rear module" was bad (had gotten wet) and it was replaced with a used one, cardboard jacking it up out of the pool location for the future and if the previous owner was the one who did it I doubt the module was added to the system, coded or otherwise. Can someone steer myself and my
NT 530
to the successful pairing of the module to this car. I have the numbers off the module and spotted 2009 in some of the lettering on the outer case. I would greatly appreciate any advise from someone in the know. Thanks for taking the time. I want to install my Toth spoiler in the worst way.....
You probably can. You want to go into the Gateway and make certain the system knows it's a boxster - and that it has a convertible top. It could have been from a Cayman, and that was never changed. Then I'd check on your
NT530
into the advanced functions (programming) on the rear-control module - and make sure all the stuff on the car is set to what is there.
Thanks for the guidance on this new to me subject. I have enough function from the module to drive and pass state inspection at this point. I hope to expand my knowledge about both the car and the
NT 530
Capabilities over time moving forward. But to that end, is the "gateway ," the module menu and upon entry to the rear module specifically, determine what's "on or off" so to speak. I am looking forward to the learning experience. I hope not to burden anyone with a bunch of questions, but may need clarification from time to time. I know your hands are full running this whole site and appreciate your reply.
I’m with you on these types of questions regarding the
Foxwell
. I have the
NT 710
and I have only used it so far for Service Reset after an oil change and a few minor changes like ‘drive away auto locking’, but I‘m used to thoroughly reading instruction manuals, which of course the
Foxwells
don’t come with. So at your mention of ‘gateways’ and ‘modules’ I will be following any responses to these inquiries with rapt attention.
