Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Before I ruin both the female port in my '06 Boxster S and the male end of my Innova 6100P reader, is it true that they should fit? I've been rather forceful in trying to put the Innova male into the Boxster female (yes, I know there's a joke there somewhere) without success. Also true that the pins and ports are essentially internationally compatible? Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

I’m not familiar with the model you’re using. However, you could get a strong light, put the seat all the way back and visually confirm the symmetry and size. They only go in one way so front and rear orientation are different. Lastly they can require more force than you would think but use that force only once you confirm fit via whatever means are necessary, good luck.

POST 3Original post

Thanks, I appreciate your quick response. I will take advantage of my yoga regimen and look more closely!

POST 4Original post

Here's a picture, and now that I look more closely, I see a locking clip (red circle) that someone else mentioned in another post. I'll check soon to see if that is the issue. Thanks!

POST 5Original post

Not sure if this is accurate, because each type of device may be different, but in my experience plugs like this and similar usually employ the locking tab to engage to prevent the cable from becoming dislodged while in use. But typically the tab is spring loaded to enable you to push the connector in initially, but you need to depress it for removal only. Not sure if this is the case with your male end. What I see from your picture may be due to parallax view, but are the two pins in the center top row bent slightly upward? Could this be preventing the plug from being inserted easily?

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
