Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used a red grease pencil (crayon sorta) to mark the outline of the arm on the inside of that piece, that makes it MUCH easier to find where and how it clips on when it falls off.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I found this part in the well that the top folds into, on the passenger side. Its not obvious to me where it goes. Can anyone tell me?

POST 2Original post

Side of the top, on one of the arms. I think I have a picture for it, let me look... EDIT: Look on the other side, you will probably see it. If you lower the top to service position, it's very visible. Look from the side. Still looking...

POST 3Original post

OK, I thought I looked on the other side and didn't see a matching piece. Now that I know its there I'll look again and see if I can figure out how to attach it, thanks for the help.

POST 4Original post

Found the pic finally: This is looking back from the passenger door... you can see the flap there. Here is another pic: You can see the two flaps on both sides here, looking from the back corner, passenger side. It's not very well secured to the car, but it seems to keep the top from getting pinched into the mechanism....

POST 5Original post

Part #34 I also included 2008 E_987_KATALOG attachment. Hope this helps. Eyes up, look ahead

POST 6Original post

The part just clips onto the arm, and is easy to dislodge.. as you found. I used a red grease pencil (crayon sorta) to mark the outline of the arm on the inside of that piece, that makes it MUCH easier to find where and how it clips on when it falls off. Mine usually falls off if I'm mucking around with the top mechanism.
