Long story... fixing roof pushrods on a 2005 Boxster S with Bose ... left the car in run position overnight by mistake... battery dead in the morning... front trunk closed so tried to use fuse box boost... had to find red connector behind fuse panel since previous owner messed with it... jump started car.. but then aftermarket Android head unit worked but had no audio. So after all that I thought maybe the factory Bose amplifier was at zero volume somehow from the dead battery. The previous owner included the factory CDR24 in the sale. I figured I would just reinstall the CDR24 to make sure the volume was set properly. After installing CDR24 , there was zero response from CDR24 . No display. No antitheft light flashing. Zero. I checked the 10A fuse and it was ok. I did the 3 fuse pull to try to reset the system. No effect. Ended up putting the Android head unit back in the car and everything is now working. It might even have more volume than before. So the question... is it possible to bench test the CDR24 to see if it's working? I understand that is requires a wake up signal from the car. Does it require a wake up signal to light up any part of the display? PFA:
