Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

How many of you use an orbital polishing machine ? Are they really safe ?

POST 2Original post

...which I used to use on my previous car with great results. With careful checking of the pad to make sure it is clean, it is totally safe. (This is an orbital we're talking about, not a pro-grade rotating unit which can even burn or leave swirl marks) I haven't been using it on the Boxster, as I apply wax with my warm fingertips only. This process is enjoyable to me and I'm in no hurry. But if speed was an issue I would not hesistate to break out the orbital. Your call...

POST 3Original post

JT, I only wax by hand -- it is such fun!!! Wax on, Wax off. I use my fingers to apply and 100% USA made cotton terry towels, washed numerous times, without fabric softeners to polish off. Actually, my only concern of the power units, even the low RPM orbitals, is they may cause a burn: OUCH!! Also, I believe you can get better, more controled applications and finishing by hand. Ed
