Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 1999 C4 11/98 build date. My trim is charcoal grey/black with a really cool silver speckled finish, which I know others have talked about on this forum because I found some other posts talking about it. Anyway; most of my trim is perfect and looks new, but the overhead light/sunroof control trim: 996-555-557-06-A03 is cracked and falling off. (I also have 2 small missing seat trim pieces) I can easily order a new black one for about $100, but I can't find it in that speckled color that is unique to the 1999. Anyone have a source? Or alternately, anyone have any luck using spray and silver sparkle powder to refinish a regular black one? I did search, but wasn't able to find any current threads with sources. Thank you anyone with assistance.

POST 2Original post

I ended up painting a few of my scratched trim pieces to fully silver, to match the "alumalook" parts already in the car (door handle, etc.)

Thank you, I hope I can find something to match, but might have to do something similar.

POST 5Original post

I have this piece that I would sell. Came with a lot of parts which came with a car I bought.

Thank you, Looking at it, I think it could be paint matched. Some dark grey matt paint, and some silver metallic might just work.

POST 9Original post

Granite grey is color code D05 when searching via part number. Just swapped out nearly all of my soft touch graphite grey trim for it. Had good luck with DC Auto and Redline Auto Parts for pieces that were NLA from Porsche.

Thank you! I didn't' realize that the last part of the part number was the color code. Looks like I can get a new OEM piece with he right color, if I don't make a deal for a used one. Thank you again.
