Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

i think with swapping vintage bodies onto these things the problem you run into is the macpherson struts; the fenders are to high for most older cars.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 2Original post

Nicely done... if it is for real (I don't believe anything I see on the internet without further proof). A picture of the engine would have been nice.

POST 3Original post

That is sooooo cool. I wish it was closer to me to check out and listed a price. I want to see the frunk and trunk area. Is that finished or just open garbage. I would buy that and make the fenders flares better. Then do an V8 swap down the road for fun.

POST 4Original post

I kinda like it... When I was growing up in SF in the 80s my mom's ride was a clapped out orange 510 wagon.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i don't dislike it. i think the rear flares could have been executed a bit better, and the work to narrow the dash seems a bit hack, but that's nitpicking. what it does for me is opens the mind to multiple body swap ideas. i'd found this a few years ago ...

POST 6Original post

Peden Conceptz on Youtube is currently doing a Metro 6R4 body onto a Boxster. Of course Mike Lake is doing the 3D printed GT3 RS onto a Boxster. I've seen a few 356 bodys on Boxsters as well. Melomotive is doing a 356 on a 718 chassis.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i think with swapping vintage bodies onto these things the problem you run into is the macpherson struts; the fenders are to high for most older cars. that's why the 365 swaps look 'wrong' but the datsun works.

POST 8Original post

Before i did the widebody on my car i found a guy who put a 993 shell on a Boxster. Unfortunately, he had to shorten the frame which is way out of my skill level, or I would have been deep into that project. I sooo want that Datsun though. I think that is such a cool swap. The Boxster is lending itself to be the modern day Fiero for the swap world.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

perhaps an rs200 rally boxster?

POST 10Original post

Yes, that's pretty much what Peden Conceptz is doing: Sans the body:

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

that's what got me thinking that any of the early hot hatches or rally cars would be a good swap. big front fenders for the struts, lots of room in the back for the mid engine. just find a wheelbase that fits.
