Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Pelican Parts: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261027T022239Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Under the right front fender (passenger side) there is a noise like a fan bearing gone bad. Can be heard right under the gas cap filler. Assuming is a bad fan, how do I get to it to remove it? Any photos would be helpful

POST 2Original post

It may also be the gas tank vent system. If you open the filler flap is the noise coming from the grommet? http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/996-forum/566676-ever-replace-the-fuel-tank-vent-valve.html If it is a fan it is one of your cooling fans. Do a google search on 996 cooling fans, or cleaning the radiators. http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/32-WATER-Main_Radiator/32-WATER-Main_Radiator.htm
