Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Install on my 1999 mk1' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install on my 1999 mk1' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I see the kit has these reinforcement plates, but its a single bolt that attaches to the headlight bracket? Is this more for the 996.1 or is this also necessary on a .2? What does that even do? Anybody able to give some clarity here?
I assume all stock links can work/operate within spec since the kit doesnt have them listed?
Lastly, why did the engine plate go from $46 up to $350? 😡😂
Just a comment. I was so excited when I found out about the X74. This was 12 or more years ago. I purchased from Gert. Installed on my 1999 MK1. The handling was great. The ride was so f ing harsh. I cried driving on some streets and this was Southern CA. I got rid of it and went with Pss9s.
What shocks did you have? I've read quite the opposite from a few people, that the X74 is the way the car should have came from the factory as it's really compliant over bumps but stiff in the corners.
The X74 makes the ride sportier with sharper steering but is not super firm nor harsh.
Whereas the RoW M030 kit or most aftermarket suspension kits comes with just shocks and springs, the X74 comes from Porsche as completely pre-assembled struts and bigger stabilizers which are the same as found in the M030 kit.
Due to the special front spring tops, more negative camber can be dialed in.
Also included in the X74 retrofit kit are 2 little metal plates that are bolted onto the framework between the engine bay and the tail lights. These are the famous “chassis reinforcements” of the X74 .
They are fixed by the same 2 bolts that hold the inner bracket of the tail lights.

The mk1 and mk2 996GT3 came from the factory with these reinforcement plates.
The reason i was trying to figure out what the plates look like is that i have a gutted gt3 chassis and they r suppose to be in the car and i was trying to find them. If they r there ill swap them onto my chassis even though they dont appear to be needed.
Searching for the picture with it installed that I saw, but yeah, it basically looks like an additional taillight bracketnobody seems to know what they do or why theyre included as they bolt to a taillight, its not adding any sort of rigidity, especially if its left out on some carsweird.
