Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I recently replaced the bushing with an OEM piece with no insert and prefer this 100%.
Leading evidence: 'Replace bushing' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace bushing' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. This was done when the transmission was out during a clutch/flywheel/rms/ims replacement so I think my mechanic used some sort of press.

OR, if not, and I do replace the mount, does anyone have experience with a new OEM mount and the soft inserts?

Are these a potential cheaper/time-extender to replacing the mount/buying the expensive tool?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I've known (from my indie) that my trans mount was in need of a replacement for about 10 months. The shift precision/responsiveness was fine until about a month ago (hence why I didn't replace it yet), so after an admittedly brief amount of research, I decided to order the Cantrell soft mounts. I watched several install videos and they all said the 996.2 manual had the removable cradle.
Long story slightly less long, I got the mounts, crawled under the car, and realized I had the non-removable cradle. I messaged Numeric (where I order to the mounts) to see if I could return them.
Now I have 3 questions:
1). Is the expensive AGA mount removal/install tool my only option?
2). Are there any replacement options for this style that are (slightly) higher than stock performance. I want MINIMUM NVH while getting some responsiveness improvement. If I have to choose, I would choose no NVH.
3). I've read mixed reviews on the FF inserts. Are these a potential cheaper/time-extender to replacing the mount/buying the expensive tool? Ie could I just install the inserts on my existing mount and get 30/40% back while buying myself another 10 months? OR, if not, and I do replace the mount, does anyone have experience with a new OEM mount and the soft inserts?
Thanks guys. Been away from RL for a while but glad to be back!
I had the race FF mounts installed in a 50k old bushing and while the response was good I did not like the NVH and resonance around 2750rpm. I recently replaced the bushing with an OEM piece with no insert and prefer this 100%. This was done when the transmission was out during a clutch/flywheel/rms/ims replacement so I think my mechanic used some sort of press.
I found another thread (sorry for the dupe) wherein people mentioned renting it from other RL users.
@dporto
is the one that looks like he's been renting his out most recently. I just shot him and one other user a PM. Let you know what I hear back.
Yes there r a few people that rent the tool. I used a new stock mount and a yellow powerflex. It wasnt noisy.
