Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

39 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Looks really nice. I'd love to loose those ugly bumperettes. I've got a question. Whether this is CF or fiberglass, neither are flexible. It seems like it wouldn't take much to crack it. And it appears like it sticks out from the bumper, so there would be little protection. At least the bumperette's skin flexes a little. I had a low impact hit on mine a few years and only got a few scratches. I did a cosmetic repair with touch-up paint but it still shows (if you're looking for it). But I figured that if I went ahead and did a quality fix/paint/replacement I'd just get it hit again. So I learned to live with it.

POST 2Original post

By your own words "ugly bumperettes".... not replacing them with a nice tidy product like this for statistically insignificant hypothetical reasons is silly, IMHO.... just do it!

POST 3Original post

So I guess your implied answer is "yes, it will shatter". Placing something expensive & fragile in an area that is supposed to absorb minor impact is just asking for trouble.

POST 4Original post

My answer is indeed yes it's breakable, but my point is live with the "ugly" or make it nice and worry about the what if.

POST 5Original post

Does anyone know if somebody makes these? Messaged this guy with no replies. Very nice idea....

POST 7Original post

The mesh inserts look WAY better than a tacked-on-piece that sits proud of the bumper. Your mod looks like it could be factory...and it would look even better if the vents in the lower valance beside the exhaust were black mesh, too.

POST 8Original post

Wow, thank you! Well I suspect the lower portion will disappear when I do the rear aero upgrades so no point in putting mesh in there

POST 9Original post

Where did you buy those? Or did you make them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

POST 12Original post

Nicely done Joshua - how are these held on - do you have other photos, perhaps with a direct on view from the rear? Would you make more of these? I like the OP's pieces, particularly in CF, but agree with the suggestion that something recessed has a more OEM look.

POST 13Original post

Thanks! I don't want to hi-jack this post. I don't want to spam the group either. That said we can make them if there's interest. Feel free to email or PM me. I'll add some pics to my thread in 987 mods with better detail of the vents. I'm traveling right now so later tonight or tomorrow I'll get the pics up.

POST 15Original post

Ya, so what happened, not being made anymore?

POST 16Original post

Seems like a good idea that never got off the ground. The euro bumper sure looks better.

POST 19Original post

i know this is an older post but i like the overall look of your replacement onecks... are you still happy with this mod? any issues Joshua, do you have any closer photos of yours? that looks really nice too.

POST 20Original post

All I have is what's been posted on this forum. If you're after something specific LMK.

POST 21Original post

My buddy, Vince, and I have been working on this to get rid of those unpleasant bumperettes. What do you guys think?

POST 23Original post

I think you guys did a great job and as much as I like CF I think in body colour would blend in better, the contrast is a bit to much (for me).

POST 25Original post

If you make this for 981 series cars, I am VERY interested.

POST 26Original post

most excellent. Love it in black. Flat black might look good too! Going into production? Estimated cost?

POST 27Original post

We made a white gel coated fiberglass one as well. Having it painted soon. I'm so torn on which one I like better!

POST 34Original post

Oh my. Time to production? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

POST 35Original post

There's no real production time on these. I don't do this for a living. If you guys want one, just let me know. $250 in fiberglass, $400 in carbon

POST 36Original post

I sure hope this is you guys. Otherwise someone is already stealing your idea and pictures. https://www.ebay.com/itm/162527665824 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
