Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The heated seat on my 2003 996 cab started coming on randomly. I replaced the switch but it continues to come on at random. Has anyone else had this problem, if so, what was the fix?

POST 2Original post

Giving this a bump as it sounds way out of sort. If there switch only engages a capacitor that actually powers the heated seat, then I would look further down the line to see what else is in series. But I have no real knowledge.

POST 3Original post

Apologies for this circuitous route in contacting you, but seems can't reply to your Cars For Sale post otherwise. So, interested in your 996 Cabriolet and hope to talk with you about it directly. I'm in Basalt so fairly close by. Please give me a call or text at [phone removed] anytime. Thanks so much, Desmond/Dave.
