Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'so i can do it' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'so i can do it' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend contacting a specialist who might be able' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone ever done this? I purchased as nice set of Sport seats from a 2016
981
with the hard silver back for my
987.1
. The driver side seems
plug
n play as the electric back adjustment and seating heating works. The issue with the passenger side is that the occupancy sensor has changed design as the
981
only has the yellow
plug
while the 987 has the yellow
plug
plus a separate
plug
for the occupancy module. A by-pass that can just have the seat occupied all the time would be great. Lots of these "seat occupancy Mat Bypass" for
Audi
/
BMW
but not for
Porsche
. Thanks
Can you message one of the eBay sellers (USA based) that are making the bypasses? They might be willing to do one for a
Porsche
.
The seat occupancy sensors are known to fail on some of the
BMW
cars, hence the market for them.
I bought a bypass from "HPREuro" when doing the install of some carbon buckets on my
M3
. I know it's not a
Porsche
... but directly relevant. HPREuro was pretty responsive to a question or two I had.
Pardon Our Interruption...
I am also swapping out the seats in my
987.2
. Running into the same Mat sensor issues. Contacted the folks at HPR Euro. They don't have anything for
Porsche
. Any other ideas on where to turn
next
? Thanks, Daryl
This an old thread but I’m doing the same
981
seat upgrade for my
987.1
and am curious what the solution to the seat occupancy sensor issue was so I can do it.
cheers
So ironically... I ended up putting some carbon buckets in my CR. Cobra Nogaros mounted on factory manual sliders. They are
much
lighter than the Porsche factory lightweight carbon buckets and cost about a third.
I cannot get the airbag warning light to go off, despite rigging up a resistor for the airbag circuit. I've sortof taken a hiatus from trying to figure it out (too many other projects) but it's on my list this holiday season.

That is pretty cool to read. Is there a reason why you wanted to change to the 991 seat? I find the 987.2 seat quite comfortable, but it can always be better, I suppose!
Happy new year to you, too! I think I’ve read about this Lithuanian parts supplier before on leather interior pieces. Do you have a website for them? Was shipping a reasonable price?
<Bonne année à toi aussi! Je pense avoir déjà entendu parler de ce fournisseur de pièces lituanien sur des pièces intérieures en cuir. Avez-vous un site Internet pour eux? Le prix de l'expédition était-il raisonnable?>
Looking into doing this myself and was curious what issues I might expect to run into. I have manual heated base seats in my
987.2
and was curious if I could pick up a set of manual heated sport seats from a 991/
981
. It is very hard to find 997 and 987 seats these days!
It sounds like you're on the right track! For the seat occupancy bypass, you might have a couple of options. Some people have used resistors or simple bypass plugs designed for other manufacturers, but with
Porsche
, it’s often trickier because of the specific wiring. I’d recommend contacting a specialist who might be able to make or recommend a custom bypass for the
987.1
. Be sure to verify the safety implications before going that route, as the occupancy sensor is tied to airbag deployment!
PIWIS
can code out the air bags and seat sensor mat just fine. I just did this on my buddy's new
987.1
with
Recaro seats
installed. I'm guessing most devices that can code the car can do this as well. The settings would be in the POSIP module if IIRC.
