Hi all,
My 176K mile 987.1S is in dire need of new suspension. I would like to upgrade to a decent set of coilovers. I am sure other suspension components will need to be replaced as well, but I will tackle that once I remove stock suspension.
Please share which coilovers you are running, and how you like them? My use case will be strictly street driving and back road drives.
Thank you in advance
R springs and

simple and effective
We're running a special on
Ohlins
Road & Track coilovers right now. Free spring change, free t-shirt and free shipping.
For your needs I'd say the off the shelf spring rates 70/80 N/mm should be fine but you may consider dropping to 60/70 for street only use.
LMK if you have any questions!
I am running Riaction coilovers on my
987.1
Cayman
. I daily the car here in Kansas City (terrible roads) and while they are firmer than the original tired suspension that I removed, I fined them to be perfectly fine for daily use (I also sit in a fixed back race seat, so a normal seat would be even better). They are an inverted design coilover so the shaft is a lot larger/stronger and also places the adjustment knob on the bottom end of the strut.
I've had them on the car for around 18 months and had recently started to notice some deterioration in damping control at the right rear so thought I would remove and inspect it while I was prepping to paint my car and it was going to be off the road for a couple of weeks anyway. Sure enough, when I removed the right rear strut and removed the spring I was able to easily compress it by hand and it was very slow to return to its original length. I contacted Riaction with some photos and a description and without hesitation they sent me a shipping label so I could send the struts to them in California to be inspected/rectified. They had them for a few days before contacting me again to confirm that shock had indeed lost nitrogen pressure and needed to be rebuilt which they had done and as a precaution they went ahead and rebuilt the other 3 as well and here's your tracking number, they should be back with you in 5 days. Fantastic customer service, I can't recommend them highly enough. Damping rates of adjustment and chosen spring rates are always going to be a very personal thing, ones mans sporty is another mans cushy...
If anyone in the KCMO area ever wants to feel how the Riaction coilovers feel I'd be more than happy to take em for a ride.
Cheers,
Julian
