Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking at buying an 01 c4 with 118k. I am very unfamiliar with the 996 cars and even more so with the c4's... What do i need to look at and inspect closely before i do buy? I know of the rms and ims. Which i will take care of soon after buying. Anything else to look out for or listen/feel for? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

POST 2Original post

Never buy a Porsche without taking it to a well known, respected Porsche mechanic for a Pre Purchase Inspection (PPI). It will be the best money you can spend on a car. And WELCOME to the club!

POST 3Original post

A PPI is a good suggestion for someone that has narrowed down to 1 or 2 cars but what about the case where you are trying to narrow down the field of choices on your own without the outlay of PPI cash for each and every car you look at?
