I used my durametric (pro) cable to access the configuration of the car and in the drop down besides "heated seats" I selected "installed" and they worked fine after.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 2 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

3 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Does anybody know what fuse controls the heated seats? No referens is given in the fuse overview. Nothing happens when I push the buttons for the heated seats (no lights, no heat, no nothing)... Contacted my Porche Center and they also seems to have difficulty finding this out (as they have not called me back for 5 days now...). The headlights washers also does not work - could this be related? All fuses are checked and OK.

POST 2Original post

Going into our Porsche dealer on Wedensday, this week. Heated seats are one of the items I have not working as well. I will let you know what they find? All my fuses look fine as well. Issues are heated seats, rear window defogger, passenger window will not close on its own when door has been opened?

POST 3Original post

Very strange. Saw this thread a couple days ago and didn't see any reason to click on it but then today I got in my CS to go home from work and what do you know, the heated seat button isn't working. Kept pushing it and it finally came on but then in another minute it went back off. Pushed it a few more times and it finally came back on again. Seemed like a loose connection or something but it was with both seats. Very strange. Definitely will be having the dealer look at it when I get my 12K service in a couple weeks.

POST 4Original post

Hmm... Since it has been really warm here in AZ i had not thought to check mine either. I guess i might a swell check to see if my Heated seats are working. All, What year is your Caymans ? Is this happening on the 2008's?

POST 5Original post

I got my 08 CS in April. I live in Florida so not much need for heated seats, but I tried them once and had exactly the same experience. They seemed to come on only after some delay. The heated seat button did not seem to be working at first. I'm going to ask my dealer about it at first service.

POST 6Original post

Just left my Cayman S at the local Porche Center. I'll let you all know what they find when I pick it up later today. My car is delivered 2005/11 (one of the first...) .

POST 7Original post

Same here. First time I ever tried it. My heated seats do not turn on. No lights in either of the two switches and no heat, and no mention of any heated seats fuse in the fuse box chart either!! I have ' 06 Cayman S . Any more info from your Porsche dealer? I have a call outstanding to my dealer re this problem.

POST 8Original post

Any follow up on this? I just purchased mine ( 2006 Cayman S ) and I seem to have the same issue (no response or lights when I press either button, everything else seems to work just fine). Thanks

POST 9Original post

My dealer fixed the problem, under warranty. He said the technician reloaded the microcode to include the heated seats option in the system configuration. The heated seat switches (and switch lights), seats, all work fine now.

POST 10Original post

Dealer did the same for my CS. Same controller controls both headlight washers and heated seats.

POST 11Original post

This is not the answer I wanted to see! Same problem with my CS, heated seats and headlight washers not working - but I don't have warranty any more so an expensive trip for me Did anyone find out where the fuse was? Not ideal - any suggestions?

POST 12Original post

Interesting, I have an 06 Boxster S and have exactly the same problem, heated seat switches do not come on, headlight washers do not work.... :thanks:Thanks for the advice.

POST 13Original post

This problem happened to my CS after replacing the battery . Brought it to the dealer and they hooked it up on their PWIS , reinitialize the heater and head lamp washer package and it worked fine. They charged me $80 for that by hooking it up on a several thousand dollar equipment.

POST 14Original post

I had this problem in my 05 Boxster . I used my durametric (pro) cable to access the configuration of the car and in the drop down besides "heated seats" I selected "installed" and they worked fine after. If you donot have a cable your dealer can turn them on.

POST 15Original post

Hi, I am having the same problem since I changed my battery on my 2006 Boxster S , which version of your software do you have, I have version 3 of Durametric and I don't see this option ?

POST 16Original post

Almost 20 years after the original post and wanted to say this information is still accurate. Purchased a 2006 Boxster S and both the heated seats & headlight washers did not work. Had the car at a local Porsche specialist and they weren't able to fix it. Took it to my Porsche dealer who performed a handoff and voila - heated seats & headlight washers now work! The way it was explained to me is this is basically the same procedure they perform on new cars to prep them for sale. Apparently if the battery voltage gets too low the car can revert back into thinking it's a brand new vehicle. Cost me about $240.00.
