The fairest way to both is to get the seller to get it repaired (obviously not at an OPC) and when that figure is known end up paying the seller the rest.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • PistonHeads: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all I placed an offer on a manual 996 which has a couple of issues. The one of most concern is the roof only raises from the button on one side and has to be pulled up manually to assist. It closes on the Button OK. Without knowing the exact issue ive asked for a reduction in the selling price to cover likely repairs. I have limited idea on repair costs but expect 4 figures. Do you think this is a fair assessment of likely repair costs? I want to be fair with the seller and protect my own interests.

POST 2Original post

The fairest way to both is to get the seller to get it repaired (obviously not at an OPC) and when that figure is known end up paying the seller the rest. Doing it any other way is a complete gamble for both.
