Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Having run a 996 C2 (MY1999) from new doing 40k miles, I never had to top up the oil. The car was well used doing approx 10 track days, but run in carefully. My new car is only 6 months old (C4S MY 2003) I've done 5K miles driven it exactly the same as my old car but I have had to put 1.5 litres of oil in it. Is this normal? Having been to several track days I have noticed that most facelift 996 cars when they start up puff out large clouds of blue smoke. However mine does not do this. It doesn't look very good for a 60 "" 70K car. Is this normal? I have never seen older 911's doing this.
