Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

I have mine on the market for $108k 06 Manual S ,,,that is a reasonable price for that car ..

POST 3Original post

I wouldn't be judging your pricing by Redbooks values ... they say an Air cooled 911 is still $50k ... 😅 It's a gen 2 which is good. Totally eliminates the IMS issues which the 996 was plagued with along with the 997 gen 1 (although not as bad as the 996). Can't really speak for pricing as I don't really follow the 997 market but I'm sure others more knowledgeable will chime in ..

Well, wouldn't that just tear a hole in your ball bag.............

POST 6Original post

Quotes source post: 331716

What was the asking? Being an approved car, guessing around the $110 mark? I also suspect at least 12 months factory warranty?

POST 7Original post

No price given.  Looking at the others on CS with similar spec one can see that in recent weeks the prices have all jumped (like house prices), aspirationally.  I can't see this being sustained.

POST 8Original post

Quotes source post: 331718

Very good ... was listed for $108k.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 331718

Started at 108, fell to 104 then 102 in the last day or so........

Just clicked the link and still listed for sale.

Ha nonsense. That’s the car to buy - still believe the 997’s are better manual as well. ...but damn I’d be getting two PPI’s on that...

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 331812

I had my eye on that car as well - not saying anything is wrong but its listed as a manual 2008 / History report says it's an Auto & the VIN listed on the report returns C2S convertible.

Yeah, I’ve been watching this one too, gradually dropping the asking. Had a quick look at it last week....very well presented  Pity it’s not an ‘S’, but still a nice spec.  At $100K or thereabouts I reckon it’s pretty well on the money.

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 331817

Yeah looks dodgy. No interior shots either... I’d be banking 997s to be min 100k no matter if gen 1 or 2. Look at 996 (even rarer for .2) manuals at the moment. There’s nothing. It’ll jump up to $80k base for 996 manual potentially.

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 331823

Feel free to DM me if you’d like to buy a manual 996 for $80k 😉

@Jason E Did you contact the guy in Cairns with the silver 996, that seems like a great deal

POST 28Original post

I've been keeping an eye on this one also, am a sucker for blue cars lol. Was as low as $99,990 but is on the way back up again.

POST 29Original post

Quotes source post: 332128

I reckon they are just playing around with the market and seeing where it'll stick. If someone was to offer well in the high 90's I think they'd own it regardless of what it's priced at ..

POST 30 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 332143

At the $99,990 mark I made them an offer they could absolutely refuse.....sadly.........the search continues..........

POST 31Original post

Apologises for the word doc attachment in advance, it was advertised in May2020, sold soon after which I think is a bargain and a half?! New owner is on here.. i have a search on the 997.2's , prices vary from 100k to 115k, obviously the above is the exception. When I eventually get sick of three pedals ill be shooting to get into a 997.2 PDK (grey unit all the way) 997.2.docx Fetching info...

You won't be disappointed - I love mine! BTW. The attached car is a series 1

Maybe I have it wrong?? Seems awfully cheap considering today's pricing

Quotes source post: 332394

I just edited my post haha I’m searching the forum for 19” carrera sport wheels pics and thought heck I may as well share the link to davo’s intro Very cheap mate, it was sold within a few days it being advertised. I purchased my in feb otherwise I’d have been all over it !

POST 36Original post

I got lucky and purchased mine at the just the right time. It was a local car, the sellers needed the money and the borders were all closed so no one from interstate could go and see it.

https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2008-porsche-911-carrera-997-series-ii-auto-my09/OAG-AD-19241083/?Cr=0 This advert is confusing. It is PC Adelaide, so I assume they should know the correct car specs. The Ad detail comments show the factory ordered options as "Adaptive sports seats".  The seats in this car appear to me as standard Carrera seats. Not Sports seats. The sales staff have advised me they have taken the option details directly from the factory data card. Weird. Can anyone that has Adaptive sports seats in a 997.2 confirm?

POST 39Original post

I pulled into that joint a few years ago in the 964 (before they were a car to have) could not even get served went to the servo down the road .

POST 40Original post

Did they leave the 5 year old in charge of price updates for this car? WTF?!? It’s had a random price change almost daily?? https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2008-porsche-911-carrera-997-series-ii-auto-my09/OAG-AD-19241083

Has anyone had a chance to inspect it? It looks in great condition but pictures can often be deceiving. I know the price is all over the place but seeing it's a series 2 i am still a little suprised it hasn't sold yet.

POST 42Original post

Quotes source post: 332554

Apparently the front end had stone chipping, and bird dropping stains, and requires respray.

POST 43 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Carsales lists it as sold now - anyone on here?

POST 44Original post

Quotes source post: 331827

Ha just to be fair here. Insurance companies are offering $75k now as value on manual 996s (mostly .2’s). $80k values in less than 4 months.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
