Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

If you have a competent diagnostics tool that can do activation you can (1) check the switch is changing state (open/closed) when the door handle is lifted (2) emulate the switch and make sure the door control module is doing what it should if it sees the switch change state.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I own a 2005 Boxster S . Recently the window regulator has stopped lowering a little bit when closing the door. It hits on the top. Funny thing is, it does lower when opening the door from the inside. The shop I take it to seems stumped. Would welcome any ideas!

POST 2Original post

There are micro-switches, both on the exterior and interior door handles which activate the window drop. Apparently the interior switch is working properly, while the exterior switch is failing to activate the window drop.

POST 3Original post

If you have a competent diagnostics tool that can do activation you can (1) check the switch is changing state (open/closed) when the door handle is lifted (2) emulate the switch and make sure the door control module is doing what it should if it sees the switch change state. PS: An intro posting, with some photos is traditional here. I realize you came here to solve a problem, but becoming part of the community helps that to happen, so I'd strongly suggest an intoductory posting. PPS: I'm moving this to the correct forum. You were close with 987 "Chat" - but a subforum for problem solving might get you better results.
