I’m currently in a 2011
997.2
Cab S. It’s been needing more repairs than I’m comfortable with so I’m getting rid of it.
I’m in the market for another
997.2
Cab S but I’ve only been primarily searching for 2011-2012 era cars feeling like I don’t want older than what I am in.
During my search I’ve found a really clean example 2010 Cab S. Of course, they want top $.
Does anyone know if there were changes made during the model cycle? If so, what were they? Thanks.
1) Yikes! Didn't want to hear that. I'm shopping for a late 996/early997. Please tell me the repairs you're dealing with.
2) Wikipedia is a good start for changes in model cycle, towards the bottom of the page.

I wouldn’t base your decisions on whether or not to purchase a 997 on my experience. I’ve got very little knowledge on the 996 so I’ll leave that to others to comment on.
My car was a certified preowned car that got rear ended while parked in my apartment complex. It was in gear and had the emergency brake on. That was a number of years ago, but who knows what potential damage that could’ve done. The large majority of issues I’ve experienced are more likely related to me being deployed multiple times on short notice, and the car sitting baking in the Florida sun or brutal cold. The repairs included new brakes and rotors, 4 new
tires
, a new locking mechanism for the driver’s side door, a new battery, a power steering pump and a number of other maintenance items. This is my third 997 (

’s). I’ve never had any major issues with any of my previous cars so I believe that it’s either this car happened to have some pre-existing issues when I purchased it or the extended time sitting idle without the type of preparation one would normally do, if they had the opportunity to, for long-term storage. Good luck with your purchase experience. Thank you for the recommendation.
